If I could give an infinite amount of stars I would. My husband and I are incredibly impressed with how nice all the staff and role models are and how accommodating they all are. Rudy and his staff are simply amazing. I have never seen my child this happy. My child is not always the easiest and can use a lot of support. The integrated specialist and the diverse ability director must have the patience of saints and really do their job well. My daughter never wants to leave camp and has bonded with so many staff and role models there. I am told how great and amazing my daughter is there every day. I truly know they care and love her so much. I am sure if my girl could live in the pool there she would! That and all the craft and art activities make her the happiest girl in the world. I really can’t thank the staff enough for easing my mind, loving my daughter and creating a fun safe space for my child to express and be herself.
Great facility and friendly staff. The pool looked nice, although a thunderstorm prevented us from using it. The staff allowed us to use the indoor gym for a birthday party and it was a blast!
We were there for a soccer game. Nice fields, plenty of parking and easy access to restrooms.
My siblings had a really good time this summer thanks to Vanessa W. Her communication skills and people skills top tier. Definitely would suggest the summer program to others because of her. Very safe, friendly, and fun for the children. Even at the bus stop you have staff making sure each child is safe. Anyways give her a raise she worked hard this summer and deserves it. You can tell when people are about the children and she definitely is.
My son did not enjoy this camp. For how pricey it is, they have the campers do the same thing daily and they don’t go on any fun trips like the other YMCA camps do. Also, they have a lot of turnover here. My son had sand thrown into his eyes by another camper, the staff never called me and said they had no idea. My son came to my car crying and said they did know, they had another camper bring him into the bathroom to clean out his eyes. We will not be going back.
This is the 1st yr. I have been a member of The Sawmill pool. I love the convenience of the facility 4 miles door to door it is a beautiful facility in a beautiful area. The pool itself is the reason for the 3 star review. When I visited the facility in early May 2017 before it opened for the season there was no cover on the pool, there was some green water at the bottom of the pool & the floor of the pool was very dirty. It appears as if nothing was done with the dirty floor of the pool before it was filled. The floor is still dirty in mid-July & there is always loose dirt on the floor of the pool. It's kind of disturbing to swim in & I've been tempted to wear water socks in the pool. The water itself is fine but the floor needs attention. Apparently the filtration system doesn't get the job done. I've spoken to lifeguards regarding this & they state that the pool is cleaned "sometimes" overnight with a robotic vacuum. Not good enough. I'm on the fence regarding whether I would rejoin next yr.
I really like this place. They property is beautiful. It has a great playground and pool.
If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Too much physical and psychological bullying happens here at the day camp and nothing is done about it. If you care about the physical safety of your child, avoid this place at all costs.
Soccer fields are in bad shape.
Very much enjoyed watching my grandson play ball. A beautiful facility!
