Rude swimming instructors that treat kids discriminatory. Say “we can’t do that” for one then do that exact thing for another. Always crowded and lifeguards are rude otherwise lazy and not paying attention, not worth your money
Attention all !!! members Be aware these ymca is scam I cancelled my membership and they still charge my card because there sauna was not working almost a month and reason I joined this ymca was sauna if it is not I don’t need to charge service I haven’t used.
ABSOLUTELY BEST YMCA I have seen! The most well equipped by far! 100% made for anyone and everyone no matter your level of fitness. Plenty of equipment variety and multiples of all the more popular equipment. Awesome kid set up too! Seriously, gym rats, muscle heads, single parents, blue collar, white collar, elderly, and young adult, and everything in-between can use this facility to the max and truly benefit. People are kind and atmosphere was nice. Clean facilities all around. Kids LOVED both the out door park and indoor play area. Sincerely a mom/ novice learning power lifter/ vanlife traveler with YMCA nationwide membership.
It's a gym. It's hard to get excited about a gym. The hours are reasonable, though not 24. The equipment is clean and well maintained, when something breaks it gets fixed in a fair amount of time. It has a decent variety of equipment if you know what you are looking for. Staff is friendly and unobtrusive. Facility is clean, sterilizing wipes and hand sanitizer are refilled regularly and fresh towels are always present. Go here if you want to be left alone at the gym, and have a peaceful experience
I've been a member for well over a decade. Great staff, towel service, locker room sauna and many more services for all age groups. Truly a fantastic destination.
It's a nice facility with lots of options. Great play place for the kids while I work out.
It's a great YMCA! Love the child care, fresh towels, clean showers, sauna, and nice exercise equipment options. There's even a rock climbing wall.
There are constant issues, if I didn’t have to send my kid here I wouldn’t. I’ve had continual problems at the worst being an employee not being there when I need to drop off my child to the switching locations and me not getting an email about it, plus more. Higher ups are always willing to fix the problems, but that’s the thing there are always problems. I’ve never had to call somewhere so much in my life before.
I've been using the Scshlossman Y for child care since June 4th, 2018 and I can't say enough good things about them. But I'm going to give it my best effort in this review: The teachers and director have set the bar high for my expectations of child care. They not only genuinely care for your child but they help develop them into a person with great character. They also educate them to help them be prepared for kindergarten. I was amazed how my child is learning to write letters at age 3. I am so happy they cultivate a program that embraces all cultures and educates them about a variety of family backgrounds. I think one way they do this is by having each child bring in a family photo so they can talk about their family. The facility seems perfect for a child. Their classrooms contain fun stations to play like water tables, puzzles, grocery stores, art, books, etc. The outdoor space has been recently updated with an amazing playground, equipped with a zip line and slide sets for various ages. The playscape is a creative place to learn while play. Indoors, the kids have access to the barn gym which has a fun, fast, exhilarating tube slide. They can also utilize the basketball gym to play with balls and run on the lines. I've personally been with them in one of the group fitness studios to give them an opportunity to dance to routines I know from being a group fitness instructor. I feel so comfortable there because they welcome me into the classroom at anytime. I've even had lunch with my child in the classroom. Also, they have set up special occasions where family members come read to the kids. They are wiling to work with difficult childhood behavior. They allow programs like Early Learning Intervention into the classroom. One day we had a family breakfast! My husband, youngest child, oldest child and I enjoyed pancakes, sausage, milk and juice together at a table with my oldest child's classmates and parents. What a huge effort on the Y's part to make families feel so loved there! The 2018-2019 winter was rough but yet they managed to stay open and provide child care the majority of the time. I think there was only one whole closed day. I remember one day they closed all facilities except Fercho but welcomed anyone from any YMCA child care facility. That day stands out because our youngest recently had surgery and the recovery was rough because the flu was also involved. As parents, we needed one less responsibility so we could focus on our sick child. My husband thanked the staff at Fercho for being open and they could tell something was going on in our lives. The director of the Schlossman Y called us just to see how we were doing. Now that is genuine, above and beyond care right there! The kids take field trips all year round to interesting, fun and educational places. Payment is easy through Tuition Express. They utilize the app SeeSaw to share pictures, videos and notes. They provide financial assistance to low income families. The health policy is reasonable. A child can't come back for 24 hours after a symptom like fever, diarrhea or vomiting has subsided. The positive list could go on and on. And to be fair, I'll talk about some challenges: Enrollment was confusing and overwhelming for me. I get lost in the titles they give to the different types of child care they provide. Early Learning vs Kindergarten Readiness vs Full Time or Part Time Preschool. It wasn't something I easily figured out from the website. Some communication was insufficient but I used other YMCA resources to help with that. However once enrolled, the logistics are a breeze.
