Ok, so the model of jacket that I bought is not on the Schott site anymore, so writing this review here. I have not been to the store, I’m in Ireland. This is my 4th Schott leather jacket, and, I must say is now my favourite. Nothing like buying New. This is a model 130 Naked leather Café Racer Style. It’s in Navy colour and is absolutely beautiful. The fit is just right, also love the lining. If you’re wondering, this is exactly the same as their popular 530 model except that the leather has no treatment, hence Naked Leather description. I’m 5”9 210lb 44” chest Size XL is just right. Very glad I pulled the trigger on this piece as they are now completely gone. They were advised as Deadstock. A really nice change from Black or Brown leather jackets. Very happy customer from Ireland.
Been waiting a year to shop in person at Schott, so worth the wait. These guys are laid back and helpful, and the store breaths that luscious leather smell. Found a leather coat that fits to a T and I'd recommend Schott to anyone looking for a distinctive coat. I also own the wool peacoat and I'll be a forever fan of these well built USA products. In my mind it's worth every penny to spend a bit more and know I'm getting a coat to last a lifetime.
Schott NYC is a well known brand to any leather jacket lover just like Rolex to any watch lover. The truth is if you have the chance try the jacket on, I guarantee you'll find a reason to buy it. It could be for your Christmas gift or just having a classy jacket or simply you want to wear a piece of American history to show your support. Even if you're not into leather jackets I'd still recommend anyone to visit the store if you're in the area because it's not only a shop that sells jackets but it's also an American history museum. P.S. The salesman that helped me was Wesley. He was a chill dude and it was a lot of fun just talking to him. I was doing the comparison between Perfecto 118 & 618 and Wesley helped me decided on the 118. You can't go wrong with either but so far I'm loving the jacket every minute.
The employees were unknowledgeable about their products and are incompetent. They assumed that the Oxford grey colored pea coat is the same as the dark Oxford grey not true. They also did not know the weight of the coats and had to check their laptops. They were also rude. I asked if the red satin lining is considered "too flashy" for those working in finance based on what they've seen with their customers, and one of the employee's replied: "Hold on, let me go to my second job to check and see, and then get I'll back to you." He confirmed it was a joke. What's equally as worse is prior to the encounter, I called and asked if any discounts were available. Corporate office said that there is a 15% discount off the coats if I were to visit the NYC store. I drove 90 minutes the day of and was told that this was not the case. Although the coats are well built and aesthetic, customer service was quite horrendous. I guess the incompetence is a function of laziness. Surely management can hire smarter and polite workers even in this economy.
Great looking store, in a super nice location Staff is super friendly and helpful, they even have a liquor station if you want a shot of their whisky They no longer just deal in leather goods, they seem to be branching out into fashionable, quality daily wear items like pants, t-shirts and non animal skin jackets. Their stuff is top notch, and i like the fact that they've been around forever.

I had an excellent shopping experience here. The staff was very friendly, didn't pressure you to buy something, and after showing me a few styles actually left me alone to figure out what I wanted without hovering over me. Jackets are $700 and up for what I was looking for but the quality speaks for itself. Very much get what you pay for. Cool store ambiance and overall very well done. If you tell them what you're looking for they will easily suggest appropriate styles based on what you want and their product knowledge. I'd recommend this store and brand to anybody looking to buy a leather jacket. Store entrance is not wheelchair accessible so please note that.
Schott NYC has THE BEST customer service I’ve experienced in a long while. I ordered a rain jacket from Nordstrom and it showed up with missing hardware; just a metal drawstring end piece, but nonetheless I was disappointed. I reached out to Schott and Denise C., an actual person, responded within the hour with a few questions about the missing piece. She located it, and mailed it to me the next day. Here it is! And I thought I was going to have to return my favorite new Jacket. Thanks Denise!
You can skip this one. The jacket is bought is exquisite but the staff is stoned, lazy, or both. They happily swiped my card for a near 1k jacket but couldn’t lift a finger to assist me. I don’t nominate any of these tattooed loafers for any customer service awards. They did however have the courtesy to mention that since I “wore the jacket out” it was now non-refundable. It would have been nice to know that fact before I made the decision to wear it out. The manager seems more interested in nurturing his team’s morale then the customer’s needs. Go to the Dumbo location, it may be better but probably not. Or better yet, buy online. Great product, bad experience, and at the flagship location? What a huge disappointment. Sadly it happened to me twice here so it’s not a one-time occurrence. Best to avoid.
The sales people will tell you anything to buy one of the jackets. In my case, they told me I can alter or fix it at anytime after I buy it. After I received it, Jerri at the main office said only the sleeves can be altered. She then ignored the rest of my emails. For these prices one should expect better service and a bit of honesty.
