I have tried different routers i have upgraded to the 10mgs. Funny how in tennessee and the new places. They have acquired have the fiber optincs and yet we are stuck with dropped downloads static in phone and shotty 1080 hd that works when it wants.but of course maybe i am mistaken in believing. You get what you pay for but they have the monopoly in scott county we really dont get another option

Expensive for what it is. And under deliver their promised speeds. If someone pays for 25mbps, they are going to expect 25mbps. Not 15 or the occasional bump to 19 on a good day... The internet is unreliable. God forbid your power goes out, it's a miracle if the box can even restart on its own. I live on the TN border and everyone across it has Charter. But Charter won't run 500 foot over to me... Makes you wonder...

I refuse to pay for their cable services, mostly because when I did have it it was constantly going out. So to maybe save a little money I went with Internet...and a house phone. No one uses a house phone unless there is no service where they live? And I was lucky to stream anything on the horrible internet service! When calling tech support I was told too many devices were running at once? So if WiFi is off on everything but the TV does that mean SCTC Internet can’t even stream one device? They did upgrade me to 10megs, but somehow service still stunk? Maybe fiber would be better but I guess I’ll have to move to a more remote area where SCTC hasn’t had their cabinets set before if I want that. Or maybe the residents of Scott County can all get together and accidentally shoot their phone lines down. I hear that’s the only way we, the 20+ year customers, will receive fiber! They’ll have to replace those lines with, you guessed it, fiber! I hope this review isn’t removed like my review...and all the others...on Facebook was. They no longer allow reviews on there. I guess the mention of all board members getting free insurance for life once they are voted on upset someone! And the fact that I pointed out how all the 5star ratings were employees, retirees, or family members of them and the board members.

their employees are top notch as expected from from small town rural areas with blue collar people. the internet however....while it's fairly reliable it's very very sub par quality for price. it's monopolized and hopefully with the repeal of some of the net neutrality amendments we won't be stuck with an overpriced and under performing service. for what we pay for 10mbs we should receive nearly 100, 60 at the minimum. download is slow, upload is abysmal. It took me nearly 2hrs to upload a 3m 45s 1080p video to youtube using their 10mb service. in 2017, that is atrocious. as usual the greed riddled wealthy halt the progression of the country. guess our little hole in the wall isn't any different.

Customer service gets a 5 star. Have always took care of me. Tech service 4 star takes them forever to answer the phone but have helped me 100%. Internet 2 star. Im paying almost $100 for 5 Mbs when a friend is hooked to fiber optics, has 25 Mbs and is only paying $85. Takes 3 weeks to download a game and almost a week to update a game. Need to have fiber optics everywhere and not just in difference locations. Overall a 3 star rating until fiber optics comes my way.
