Story

Leisha has been working in the field of speech therapy since 2006. She has extensive training in the areas of accent reduction and modification, bilingual communication disorders, articulation/phonology disorders, early language development, and orofacial myology disorders (e.g. tongue thrust) and has received extensive training by the International Association of Orofacial Myology. She is PROMPT trained. Her experience extends from Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education and School-Age clients to the Hospital in Acute Care. She is conversationally fluent in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.She received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Leisha holds her Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and her license through the Oregon Board of Examiners. She in an active member of the Oregon Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Leisha’s hobbies include teaching English to adult English Language Learners, mentoring high school students, and many outdoor activities.

Katie has been working in the field of speech-language pathology since 2007. Most of her career has been spent in the medical therapy settings with children birth through high school. Katie completed her Master’s Degree at Washington State University and Bachelor’s degree at Western Washington University. She has her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA and has extensive training as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist in Auditory Verbal Therapy. Katie works closely with the patients Audiologist and ENT to ensure the best possible therapy for each patients unique issues. Although she focuses her continuing education on teaching children with hearing loss, she has extensive training and serves a variety of children with other communication disorders and delays. Katie is also experienced in communicating with sign language (American Sign Language (ASL) and Signed Exact English (SEE).

Danielle is a graduate student from Pacific University and is set to graduate in May 2017. Her clinical experiences include working with patients in retirement facilities, preschools, elementary and middle schools. Prior to and during graduate school Danielle has worked with many children who have developmental disabilities. She enjoys working with patients who have language disorders and loves to engage in shared reading experiences. Danielle recognizes through her experience and education the importance of speech, language, swallowing and cognitive therapy to improve an individual’s quality of life.
