Shalom Y'all Israeli Street Food
"The former Shalom Y'all Street Food location is breaking out and forging an identity of its own, with a unique, more casual menu full of playful inspiration. Lil’ Shalom is a place to live in the moment, focused on quick bites, to either takeout or enjoy in the bright and lively new space or an outdoor courtyard. The space itself will feature a European-inspired standing bar to stop by for a quick refresh day or night."

Good food, diverse menu. We had the lamb shawarma and chicken schnitzel, both well flavored but I enjoyed the lamb the most. Also got the mejadara lentil and rice plate. They did ask to see vaccination status in order to eat inside which was nice, and surprisingly all too rare around here. There were heated booths outside that started to fill soon after we got there, indoor seating is very limited.
We find this place on a trip to Portland. The restaurant is fairly small, but we were fortunate to have a day where we could sit at their outdoor tables. We tried the Nazareth kebab and an order of the classic hummus. The kebab was fresh and very flavorful. The hummus was smooth and tasty. I would recommend ordering a and pita if you get hummus.
First time here and was a little surprised by how small their indoor seating was. However, it didn't take long for me and my friend to be seated. I got the Triple Lime cocktail with alchohol and the chicken kebab and they were just amazing. I would recommend this place to friends!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
Very less indoor seating, outside is great. The food is very well made with quality ingredients, the falafel is delicious as well. I love the service, fast and efficient. But, We got the shalom y’all plate and it’s not enough for two people which I was told it is unless you have a small appetite. Also with plates you only get 1 pita which isn’t enough for 2 people or for the whole plate. A extra pita in itself costs $3. A little bit on the expensive side given it’s self service but I’ll come back to try different things.
Great Falafel! I've been searching for falafel like this on the west coast - haven't had it since working with Syrians on the east coast. This food is the greatest Mediterranean food on the west coast.
Yummy! Only ordered the chopped salad but no complaints. It was very fresh, tasty with the perfect amount of lemon and mint. The fiancé ordered a pineapple mango hard seltzer and enjoyed it.
I was excited to find an Israeli cafe. Came in here for a quick lunch and I don’t think the server/cashier wanted us to be there. After a few snobby comments, we should have just left, but I did want to try the food. The other person on the bar was very friendly so I just talked to him from then on. The falafel plate was tasty. Fresh falafels, great hummus, labneh, a refreshing salad and a homemade pita on the side. We also got the chicken and rice okays and the chicken was a bit chewy and overcooked. It was better once we added sauces from the other plate. The place was really tiny, but there was a patio outside. I don’t think I would come back based on the service though.
Lil' Shalom is a great place for comfort Mediterranean food. Their Pitas are fresh, the Hummus and Falafel are delicious but the star of the show is their Moroccan Carrot! The place is very conveniently located and walking distance from other popular Downtown Portland spots like Pioneer Square and Powell's Books. This also means parking could be a little difficult in the area. I love their outdoor seating which is very peaceful. We usually get the Lil' Shalom plate which is a nice platter of their signature items and usually enough for 2 with a small appetite. Highly recommend!
This place has amazing food. The are very creative in their dishes. We had the chicken schnitzel and the hummus with burnt tips today. Both were very delicious. Easy going staff and ample seating outside.
Amazing food. The pitas are made to order and the flavors are complex and delicious. So glad we were able to stop here during our time in Portland.
