If you want balayage or highlights you have to come here and book with Himali! This was my first hair appointment since moving to JC and she did a PHENOMENAL job on my balayage!!! She got the exact color of highlight I wanted and the way it’s blended at the roots is unreal. And even though she is a “color specialist” she also does a great haircut — she gave me gorgeous layers while keeping the my hair long.

Updated review: After an initial disappointing experience with my color and not getting what I asked for, they made a huge effort to make it right and for me to come back and have it fixed free of charge. Jasmarie did my balayage this time and she was great. She asked questions to really understand my vision, was extremely kind, and communicated the process well with me. I LOVE my color and will go back to her for sure.

I did balayage and root shadow with Alec, and can't be happier. He didn't rush through the process and was kind to answer all of the questions. I highly recommend him.

This is probably the worst salon in jersey city. I got a haircut from Carolina and she totally messed up my hair I can’t get out of the house for a week now. I wish I knew the service was so terrible. I would recommend to look for some other salon especially if you are a guy and looking for a haircut.Service: Haircut

My stylist, Maria was amazing! Not only did she give me the perfect cut for my face and the perfect long layers for my hair type, which is coarse and can be frizzy at times that allows me to wear my hair styled or just natural waves. I have already received multiple compliments from people that don’t even know me on my haircut. It looks great even in the mornings before I even wash it. Maria was wonderful to talk with as she cut my hair and made me feel very comfortable so I was able to enjoy this time which made my day better it had been a rough one. I highly recommend this salon, which has a nice ambiance, but specifically Maria, who is a master with hair, but also with building a solid client relationship. Go see Maria- you will be so glad you did!!

My go to spot for hair color and cuts. I've been coming here for years and intend on continuing for years to come! Staff is super friendly and always welcoming. Pedro is a magician with hair color - he does Balayage on my hair so well and it looks extremely natural. It lasts quite a while too. I've gone darker with Balayage and have gone lighter and both look great. I recently went back for my bi-annual balayage and it felt pretty safe. They have a new check in process and their space now includes plastic dividers, plastic seat coverings and such. Everything felt safe and relatively "normal". Prices here are pretty competitive with other salons in the area!

If you need a hair cut/highlights/color.. please go to Himali; she truly is THE BEST. Now, onto why I’m leaving a 2 star review: Purchased a blow out package 6 and used it on 3 occasions to get curls in my hair. The last 2 times I was left with limp hair, no volume, no curls, no waves…. I have tried everything I could think of to get to speak with management: called; emailed with pictures of my hair, reached out via social media…. Was promised I’d hear back from someone. This was Friday. We are now Wednesday. Lack of professionalism and accountability is simply awful. Pic 1 & 2 are of my hair after requesting blow out waves. Picture 3 is the gorgeous hair Himali gave me.

I'm a regular at Shampoo JC. I tested positive for COVID on the morning of my appointment and hence I called them to cancel. I also told them that I'll provide the test result as well, however they had to still charge me the cancellation fee half of service fee. Disappointed and potentially they lost a client and also the people I referred.
