Shan Chinese buffet

For americanized Chinese food, Shan is pretty good. For a small buffet, there selection is surprisingly varied. I was pleasantly surprised to find oysters on the half shell, chilled mussels and shrimps, something usually found only in bigger eateries. The place is not overly big but cozy. Staff is friendly and attentive, their conversation animated, and hilarious if you understand the dialects. Overall, very good place, much like an undiscovered dig just outside the town.

Food was ok, as a trucker was pleased to see parking for big trucks, although I was in a small moving rental truck that day. When I walked in they greeting me from a booth on other side of wall took me a second to figure out who said hello. They might consider talking their work closer to the counter. The other part is they pretty much insisted I be front ant center and got confused when I said I did not like that spot. I want an out of the main path of everyone place to sit. They sudden could not speak good enough English to understand and had me at this point standing in the middle of the room almost trying to embarrass me into that one seat. I still tipped and ate and sat in that seat but more than likely will never come back. I might try one more time since it is in my lane/path of freight.

This is the best Chinese food I ever ate I stop every time I go threw there I have try ed a bunch of places but this is,the best. And wonderful service

Let me start out by saying I'm a truck driver. This place isn't that good but if you're a truck driver it will do as it is a alternative to Mc Donald's, Wendy's and subway. The food wasn't hot as other reviewers have stated but it wasn't really cold either if that make since. Nothing fancy just the basics on the buffet. The staff can be a little rude so that's why I won't come back. I'm a foodie so even if your service isn't the best but your food is good, I'm coming back again but you can't have ok to bad food and bad service. Naw. This was my first and last time eating here. Lesson....learn to treat your customers with good friendly service and you will have a customer for life.

NEVER EAT HERE EVER!!! I wish I could give this negative stars!!!!! First food disgusting and cold. The waitress never brought me my drink i had to go to the actual area where the cups and ice and soda is located and get my own. Meanwhile she was to busy on her phone and eating next to us talking in another lang like no one else was there. Then after still eating while she hasn't noticed I now have gotten my own drink in an area customers shouldn't even be. As this goes on she gets off the phone hasn't checked on any of us at tables she starts loudly across the restaurant to The woman /the manager or and owner. THEN the nerve of this woman!!!! I am getting my 2nd plate of food since my first was cold I figure ok it happens sometimes. THE WAITRESS GRABBED MY ARM AND LEAD ME AROUND THE BUFFET TELLING ME WHAT I COULD AND COULD NOT EAT. NOW NOT ONLY DO I HAVE AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE BUT WHEN SHE GRABBED MY ARM AND PULLED ME THROUGH 2 ISLES of FOOD, IT WAS MORE OF AN ASSAULT WITH INJURY ADDED. THEY had an HOUR left b4 GOING TO SWITCH TO DINNER. So as they STARTED BRING OUT MORE HOT LUNCH FOOD AND REFILLING LUNCH BINS WITH NEW HOT FOOD FOR LUNCH CROWD WHICH WE WERE. This GIRL HAS THE BALLZ TO ACTUALLY GRAB ME AND DRAG ME THROUGH THESE AISLES??? I WAS SO CAUGHT OFF GUARD AND IN SO MUCH PAIN WHERE SHE WAS CLENCHED ONTO MY ARM SQUEEZING ME AS HARD AS SHE COULD TO PULL ME AROUND!!!!THIS HAS ME SO UPSET I WILL HAVE TO UPDATE THIS REVIEW LATER. I AM SO APPALLED AND INSULTED I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY NICE!!!! NOR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND THE HOMELESS TO HAVE A MEAL THERE OR ANYONE FOR THIS MATTER!!! NEGATIVE 30 STARS FOR ASSAULT AND PAYING TO BE ASSAULTED. STILL DID THE RIGHT THING WENT TO THE MANAGER THE WAITRESS CAME AT ME SCREAMING WHILE THE MANAGER/ OWNER WATCHED AND SPOKE TO HER IN A DIFFERENT LANG I ASSUME TO GET AWAY FROM ME. BECAUSE I THEN HAD SCREAMED SO LOUD AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS SHE'D BE ARRESTED IF SHE DIDN'T REMOVE HERSELF FROM MY PERSONAL SPACE WHILE TALKING TO THE MANAGER/OWNER WHOM I PAID MY 10 BUCKS TO AND WALKED OUT SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO GET MORE HURT OR GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND PRESS CHARGES IN A STATE I WAS VISITING AND PASSING THROUGH. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY. I'VE SEEN MANY THINGS IN MY TIME BUT THIS TOOK THE CAKE. MAYBE BECAUSE NOT ONLY WAS I INJURED BUT ACCOSTED BY AN EMPLOYEE? WTH? THEREFORE THEY ARE NOT REALY WORTH ANY MORE OF MY TIME. HOWEVER PEOPLE AND TRUCK DRIVERS ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S RIGHT OUTSIDE A TRUCK STOP BOYCOTT THIS HORRIBLE AND MISMANAGED PLACE. MY HUSBAND WAS PUKING 30 MINS AFTER EATING THERE, FROM STRESS WE THOUGHT NOPE HE GOT FOOD POISONING AN HOUR DOWN THE ROAD. WE BOTH ATE DIFFERENT THINGS HOWEVER OBVIOUSLY CLEANLINESS ISN'T A PRIORITY IN THE KITCHEN OR ON THE BUFFET; NOR ARE THERE PAYING CUSTOMERS GIVEN THE PROPER SERVICE. WE SAW THE WAITRESS THEN GO TO EVERY TABLE WHILE WALKING OUT AND DEMAND THEY TAKE THEIR CHECKS AND YELLING "YOU PAY ME NOW". WE JUST LEFT BUT I WAS SHOCKED, NOT MUCH SHOCKS ME AFTER GROWING UP IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS. BUT THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN. THE HEALTH INSPECTOR HAS BEEN INFORMED. I FILED A REPORT. IF I LIVED THERE I WOULD HAVE PRESSED CHARGES. TRUCK DRIVERS ESPECIALLY BEWARE... EAT ACCROSS THE STREET OR AT THE ACTUAL TRUCK STOP UR BETTER OFF. PLUS UR CLOCK WON'T RUN OUT WHILE UR SUFFERING FROM FOOD POISONING. UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE.
