Sharian has the most technologically advanced rug cleaning service in the Southeast, offering expert onsite restoration, repair, and rug sales since 1931.

Story

At Sharian, we have been selling, restoring and cleaning fine Oriental rugs for 86 years. Rugs have been the focus of our family for four generations. What does this mean for our customers? It means we are here to stay. We have a long history of service and integrity. And we really know our business.

Sharian specializes in professional treatment, restoration and preventive care of all types of Oriental rugs. Our deep knowledge of rug types, weaving, dyes and cleaning methods ensure that your precious rugs are treated with the appropriate techniques and handled with the utmost care.

All rug cleaning is done onsite at our Decatur location and is handled by a team of professionals including a fourth generation member of the family, Jim Garner who has achieved the Master Rug Cleaner designation and completed his examination to become a Certified Rug Specialist from the Association of Rug Care Specialists.

Sharian also offers a large selection of antique (100+ years old), semi-antique (50+ years old) and new rugs (less than 50 years old) - all hand-woven of wool or silk - and all individually selected by us for their quality and value.

We've been having our rugs cleaned here for year. Always courteous, friendly and transparent when explaining the recommended cleaning process to use and what the outcome will look like.
My grandmother recently passed and with what money she left behind I decided to repair her mother rug that's at least 70 years old. So I can't even imagen how dirty it was. They quoted me a price for the deep cleaning over the phone. I pulled up and an AWESOME employee names James Garner came out and helped me unload it and explain the whole process my rug would go through. Explained it's probably need a new backing it was glued on and their were bubbles which meant the glue was coming up on those places :I appreciated him explaining he even got a quote for the backing. They were super nice and gave me a 20% discount on my deep clean. And after the deep clean they realized to avoid any further fraying I would need it to be surged. They called me to ask if it was what I'd want. And then after I confirmed they got it done rather quickly. In all I paid less then about $750 for everything was super surprised it cost me less then $1000. DEFINITELY recommend for rug cleaning and restoration... Including antique rug restoration.
Spending the day with my Daddy and he had to pick up some beautiful oriental rugs from here. I fell in love with this one stop shop. There show room was impressive as was their cleaning shop. It literally was the perfect one stop shop for everything oriental rugs.
I have a hand hooked wool rug that I love but it had stains from my dogs among other things. Sharian took my area rug and returned it to me in as good as new condition. I didn't think they could get the stains out without damaging the rug. But they did a beautiful job. The rug has flowers woven into it in various colors and the colors are also vibrant again like they were when I bought the rug. I would definitely use their service again.
Sharian has cleaned our rugs for 10 years. They are really good at what they do and have always been extremely courteous! The pick up and deliver is nice when it's difficult to deliver your rugs to them. They do offer a great discount if you can deliver the rugs to them!
Excellent rug cleaning service and awesome Customer Service!! We’ve had several rugs cleaned at Sharian and not only were they thoroughly cleaned; we also received historical background info on our rugs and tips for ongoing care/maintenance. This is definitely the place to take your rug.
The ONLY place to buy, clean or repair antique rugs. They are a well oiled machine and are an asset to our community.
They are very friendly and helpful. They did such a good job on my one rug, I took another in for cleaning. The first rug was soiled with pet urine and they did a fantastic job cleaning it.
