Sharon is a miracle worker! My partner and I were at our wits end trying to integrate a new cat with our resident cat. Nothing we did could get our resident to stop hunting the new guy! We found Sharon online and we waffled a bit--do we really need to call in a cat expert, what can she tell us that the internet can't, etc. etc. We were so, so, so wrong!! In our 90 minute session Sharon did a full evaluation of the cats and their environment, taught us some invaluable techniques and practices to aid in the integration, and she did so in such a supportive and caring way that really made us feel empowered to solve this problem. After a few weeks implementing her techniques, we successfully integrated the cats! She is truly, truly an expert. If you're hesitating to call her, don't!
Just the Best! Sharon Mear is just that. Patient, understanding, and the best behaviorist ever. My dog was using my apartment as her personal toilet. Sharon came to the rescue and helped not only my dog but me to work through those difficult times. Teaching me and my dog, Sharon's incite is impeccable. I hope those who read this review trust that Sharon is all that I have said. She remains someone I can and feel comfortable speaking to if an unexpected event were to occur. With 25 years of experience Sharon is JUST THE BEST!
When I first met Sharon, I had recently adopted my rescue pup Bonnie - an energetic and anxious Chihuahua cross - and was feeling overwhelmed by the amount I felt I had to absorb quickly as a new dog owner - much of it conflicting and contradictory. From the very first consultation, Sharon immediately put me at ease and I felt safely guided by her. She very patiently listened as I expressed my many anxieties and she asked lots of very insightful questions. She has always readily shared her extensive knowledge with me - a goldmine of resources that have remained incredibly useful over the years. Sharon has an innate gift of understanding how a dog communicates and what drives their behaviour; she instinctively knew the best way to get Bonnie's attention and sustain it to teach her new skills. Sharon only uses positive reinforcement techniques. This was hugely important to me as I do not agree with using any aversive methods. Sharon is living proof that positive reinforcement is the most effective way to teach. We moved to another part of the city a few months later and I needed help with Bonnie's reaction to bicycles and joggers. Using only positive training methods, Sharon helped Bonnie to associate them with good things and this helped her to remain calm on her walks. I wholeheartedly recommend Sharon if you are looking for a trainer!
We can’t thank Sharon enough for giving us the tools and guidance we needed to help us with our new family member Larkin! Sharon was incredible with our new dog and helped us as much as she helped him. She was full of great ideas and training methods. We really appreciated her focus on positive reinforcement and her patience with all of our inquiries. We would highly recommend her services.
After calling several places I went with Sharon as she was the only one that asked about my situation and the dogs needs first, before saying how they go about their training. I also preferred Sharon's approach to the training. Sharon was always on time, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and had command of our 4 month old English Bulldog straight away. The training is customized for you as well as your dog. Sharon followed up with emails that contained 'homework' and valuable information for you to learn more. I highly recommend having private lessons - money well spent and have recommended her to numerous people I've met looking for a trainer.
Sharon is the real deal. She has helped guide me with different generations of kitties, and I’ve recommended her to friends and colleagues with pups and dogs who are having problems. We are always helped! She takes each person’s and animal’s situation, helps define the issues, and comes up with workable solutions. She really cares about the animals she works with and they always know that they’re in hands they can trust. The difference Sharon has made in our lives is immense. Anyone who is seeing issues develop with their animal should call her. She’s genuine, skilled and caring.
Couldn’t speak more highly of Sharon as a trainer! She was always calm and patient with my puppy that bites everything, provided excellent training advice and resources, and made sure that I was the one engaging with the dog after demonstrating to me different training techniques.
My kitten can use litter box but just don't bury her stool, I contacted Sharon regarding this problem by phone. She is very very kind and answered all my questions & concerns in just a few minutes. Very professional, highly recommended!
Sharon is an excellent trainer and if you follow her program you get results! She's caring and knowledgeable. We can't thank her enough for her work with our Bailey.
