Story

Shelbi Nicole is an artist that resides in Houston, Texas and is the founder of Shelbi Nicole Designs. With over 20 successful shows under her belt, she's a seasoned professional artist. She was born in Oklahoma City then lived in France, Miami and since 2008 in Texas. She’s a well-known member of the Houston Art Community with numerous public art pieces around the city. Her work typically consists of vibrant color patterns, mixed media components and abstract imagery. Since moving back to Houston in 2008, she’s helped develop public art & projects, murals, signage, and was named one of “Houston’s Top 10 Painters” by the Houston Press in 2014. She was selected along with 15 other artists for UP Art Studio's Mini Murals Project in collaboration with the City of Houston to paint the metal electrical boxes located at every major street corner in Houston. She's also the Creative Director of Rozendove, an Italian company that produces luxury fabrics and scarves. She also travels frequently for projects all over the United States and serves as the head ambassador for #HoustonNoLimits, a project through The Greater Houston Partnership to promote the great things happening in the city of Houston. And to add to her list of creative endeavors, she writes for various online publications covering arts and entertainment topics. Some of her most recent accomplishments were being selected by the NFL to design and paint football helmets for the Houston Super Bowl LI. Her designs were also selected by NASA to hang aboard the new TESS Satellite as it launches into space to survey for new planets. She just wrapped up an exhibition in Chelsea, London in October 2016 and has plans to participate in Art Basel Miami 2016. In late February she has a show during New York Art Week in Chelsea, New York.
