Arrived at 7:50am. They open at 9am. 18 people already in line ahead of me. 2 with chairs. 30+ people quickly lining up behind me. I tried emailing Wanda a month ago to ask about an issue I had with changing my address, and got no response. Nobody ever answers the phone. At 9:06am doors still hadn't opened. It had started sprinkling, the line was continuously growing. Clerks inside kept peeking to see how bad the line was, so they were in there but not opening at the time they are listed to be open for business. No consideration for all of us out here waiting. This level of incompetence feels intentional. Almost like they are mad at us, because they can't keep up. It isn't our fault. Finally doors open at 9:08am. By 9:12am I have gone through security and gotten a ticket and been seated. The room smells like wet dog, onions, and mildew. 2 clerks. 10 empty clerk stalls that should be filled. By 9:50am I still had 11 people ahead of me. I've already been here for 2 hours. At 9:53am another clerk shows up. She sits there doing nothing, calling nobody. Finally she starts helping and calling us up. I didn't get out and get to my car until 10:15am. The line outside still goes all the way to the end of the parking lot. It took a little over 2 hours to get my tags, even with me getting here an hour early.
Today was a disgusting experience. Waited over 3 hours to renew tags. Only 2 employees to help 150 or so while I was there. The lack of any emotion or care struck me the most. It really shouldn't be like this. A simple smile or "I'm sorry it has taken so long " would mean alot to the room full of frustrated people all paying there money to the city" just sad.
This is the worse ran facility I have seen. Waited for over 2 hours because they decided to take a break at 3pm knowing place close at 5pm. Then they have no clue of what they are talking about. They said my authority for company is not active when is showed authorized. They did not understand authorized means active. I try to explain but they was so rude and trying to find any reason to turn me around.
So...Any 3,4,&5 star reviews are friends or relatives of the "vacationing"court clerk! If that weakling mayor had a backbone he would've fired her! Thank goodness his time is up, hopefully someone with strength can return this city to what it once was! ALL CITIZENS black & whitewant this court clerk gone for treating Shelby co,TN resident's with such disregard ! It's shameful and unforgivable
The city of Memphis is severely underfunded they have 1 clerk working been here for 5 hours extremely unorganized just trying to renew tags once I got to the clerk I was accused of skipping line by the clerk and her name was Tawana leaks I had four or five people and the security guard. Vouch for me that I didn't skip in line and she forced me to go to the back of the line I feel like she had racial tension against me! someone is lineing there pockets instead of puting the funds in the right place welcome to a city ran by correption.
Can you imagine the private sector operating like this? I've tried to go 5 times. 1st time, the website hours were incorrect and they were closed. Next 4 times, the lines would have been hours long. Public sector has no competition nor incentive to provide satisfactory service and unfortunately it shows here.
Horrible. Waited 3 hours only to find out a “policy” change happened, could not get tags. Put signs up, let folk know what they need. It’s not our fault. Website is elementary and you can’t get anyone on the phone. #voteoutwandawitch
For some reason they decided to close at noon dec 30th for the “holiday weekend”? This was our 3rd day in a row showing up and trying to renew our tags. This county makes it literally impossible to get anything done.
The wait outdoors in the cold and rain is ridiculous. If you arrive before close, you still may not get seen. It’s not so much the people. They are stressed. It’s the system itself. The county. The city.
Waiting in line for 2 hours standing in the cold is awful. If you have any back problems or hip problems or a metal plate in your spine like I do get ready for some pain.
