Shenanigans

My husband and I went there tonight on a whim....I am so mad that I have lived down the street from here for 3 yrs and had never been. The service was great. We were greeted by several members of the staff. The atmosphere was both chill and lit with live music. The food was really good. I had the Cuban and hubby had the turkey bacon wrap. We also tried the corn jalapeño poppers (I just wish a few more came in the order)....I read a few reviews prior to coming of people insinuating a racist atmosphere but I didn't experience that. Everyone was very warm and welcoming (we were 2 of the 3 black people there)... I will definitely be back.

Our thanks to the team at Shenanigans (Pub Eatery) in Portage, Indiana for making our Memorial Day 2018 visit to the Lake Michigan shore area a memorable one. We chose a hotel within walking distance of Shenanigans so we could end a warm day at the Indiana Dunes with some food and drink. (Note they offer a 10 percent discount on your bill if you stay at a nearby hotel). It was immediately noticeable to us that Wallace, Chris, and the servers had pride in their food and drink offerings and wanted us to feel like a valued customer. The food was very tasty and we could tell it was prepared in-house from scratch; we had the spicy shrimp appetizer and the Italian Beef sandwich served with au jus. The local craft beer from Michigan City was a good selection on offer. It was especially nice to have an inside seating area with fresh air coming in from the outside patio area. Several families with children played games provided by the staff. A side note on the food…someone outside ordered a house pizza and we could smell the garlic at least 10 feet away. We saw one customer with a thick burger with trimmings, and another customer who ordered a plate full of perch. All in all, if you are up at the Indiana Dunes area, consider staying in Portage and making Shenanigans a place to stop for food, drink, fun, and just enjoying the outside air on the patio (while the sun sets and the moon rises).

Boyfriend and I came here because of the Name of the restaurant. The special was Roasted Chicken Dinner.... Yummy..... extremely Amazing!!!!! So good we ordered another plate!!!!! Service was good, owner a nice man!!!! Definitely will come back to eat again!!!!

We stopped in for a couple drinks Bartender/manager Knew how to make a good drink Definitely a local hangout Prices not too badd

Good staff and environment There in winter so no comment on outdoor area... From what i heard get the burgers. I had one and can say i have had better but still a great place to hang and watch sports. Friday nights look rockin...
