I was happy with the care I received at Sher Psychiatry until my recent dismissal from the practice without warning. I only became aware of this when I called to schedule an appointment. They refused to see me without offering a referral to another provider. They only provided me with a 30-day supply of my medications. It is unlikely that I will find a new provider that will be able to see me and refill my prescriptions in such a short time. Full transparency, the reason for my dismissal was due to missed appointments. While any no-shows were a complete accident and never my intention, I understand that this behavior is problematic, and I am sorry for anyone's time I wasted. This office needs to do more to help prevent this problem. If any other patients have difficulty keeping track of appointments, there are many ways they can and should improve.
I called to get my proscription. The person the on the prescription line called me back since they never answer the phone there, and you have to leave a message for a returned call. This person was so rude talked over me told me it’s the patients responsibility to look at their prescription which is true except I was not told of a policy they have there so of course I didn’t and when I tried to just explain this and tell them the situation they continued to talk over me and give attitude, so I asked them to stop talking over me explained my situation and then they hung up on me disconnection maybe, no they would have called back they have caller I.D. there I have sat in the office once and heard the caller I.D. so if you think they are screening your calls you are probably right I definitely do not recommend this place for anyone just save your time and money, take it somewhere else. Trust me on this you will be much happier somewhere else I will be doing the same very soon possibly today.
I called here to try and make a new patient appointment but the person who answered the phone was very rude and dismissive. When I asked if there was an option to be seen and pay out of pocket she scoffed and scolded me by saying it was "insurance fraud" it isn't in a tone of voice that made me feel ridiculous and shady for even asking. I have never in my life been denied seeing a doctor and paying out of pocket. These people don't care. Based on the other reviews here, we dodged a bullet. Go elsewhere. This is not a good doctor.
Absolutely SICK people with ill intentions. If you really need help; they will find your case too difficult and turn you right away. Don’t waste your time on such malpractice and negligence.
This receptionist was extremely rude on the phone. A place like this should be very understanding and polite. Negative review on that! I am a very easy going person and have a lot of patients-she on the other hand did not.
The receptionist is exceptionally rude. I called them and told them how frustrated I was because I didn’t get a link to my appointment and how I have been trying to contact them for the past 20 minutes. She then told me that I had gotten one on Friday which I did not. When I told her that she got really defensive and said “well then you got one in April and if you checked your email you would know”. She also told me that the 20 minutes that I spent trying to contact them wasn’t enough. So what, how long am I supposed to wait before I get a response from you guys. An hour? Two hours? Maybe three weeks? That is horrible customer service. I didn’t like the customer service I received and the lady was extremely rude. I can’t believe that is how they talk to customers.
The receptionists are usually very rude do not listen to your requests do not fill your medications etc. It's very frustrating trying to get a hold of anybody in the office extremely unprofessional.
I started going to Sher Psychiatry November of last year to help manage my intense anxiety, overall feeling of dysfunction, and many other personal issues. I COULD NOT ask for a better team! My initial intake and testing were with Dr. Sebi who recommended I see their licensed counselor, Pamela, on a regular basis. I also see Dr. Anthony periodically to check in and to talk about my treatment plan. I've been to several therpists, but I've never made as much progress as I have here even despite the circumstances of having remote sessions. The office staff is very friendly and quick to return my calls. Everyone I work with makes me feel very comfortable which is so important for a Psychiatry office. Over the past several months, Pam has helped me overcome so many obstacles that I've been struggling with for as long as I can remember. In addition to traditional talk therapy, she gives me different exercises, grounding techniques, and recommends videos and books. I feel like they genuinely care about my progress and aren't just going through the motions. I'm am SO happy I found this office!
The providers I’ve been working with since September/October of 2020, have literally saved my life. They are kind, compassionate and wanting to help. I’m eternally grateful for them and behind happy with their services. My therapist is the one I’ve been searching for my whole life, I look forward to talking with her every time!
I have been receiving therapy and med management for several months with great satisfaction. When I read all the negative reviews I would remind potential clients that this is a place that people go to that have mental problems. I believe they will always find fault with some receptionists, clinicians and doctors as part of their illnesses. I have never experienced rudeness in any of the 3 admin people I have interacted with many times in person or by phone. I Initially was referred for bi-polar evaluation. I had a lengthy conversation with clinician Sebi beforehand explaining the process, was actually scheduled on a Sunday to come in to complete the 300+ computer questionnaire and given an appointment date to discuss findings. The review of the results was also a very thorough discussion. From there I chose to meet with the psychiatrist to discuss med management and set up weekly therapists visits with Laura to work on some issues. I found Sebi to be very pleasant and thorough with his discussions and answers to my questions. Dr. Sher does not meet you in person but by video while you sit it her office and she is in another location and the staff will explain that further. I have worked with 2 orher psychiatrists while living in other states and she is very pleasant and shows much more personality. My impression of psychiatrists is they are not really "touchy/feely" types. It is more of matter of fact, this is what you must do and meds to take and they don't want to get into detail or deep emotions. I would almost describe them as cold. Not so with Dr Sher - she is much warmer, makes you feel she is really listening to you and then making her decision on next steps. Since I see her only for a high level discussion of what's going on with me and med management, I can't comment on her for in-depth therapy. Laura has been a wonderful therapist and has helped me deal with my issues on so many levels. I feel comfortable to speak up with I disagree and she listens to me when I am a bit out of control. She has definitely made a difference in my life. As far as appointment making, it may take time to get your first appointment, but once you are on a regular schedule to see them it works very timely. I also rarely have to wait. The most is 15 mins and I would hope you would be understanding because sometime you might need a few more minutes on your appointment. I have continued my visits with Dr. Sher and Laura during the COVID shutdown, justing doing the visiits by calls. The staff works remotely too, so you just leave a message and they do get back with you. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE and again remember that a lot of negative reviews here can be expected because of the type of patients we are! I've seen many patients treat the staff inappropriately and rudely at the front reception window and I imagine the staff puts up with a lot. Plus sometimes when a client is acting unreasonable, it may be necessary to be "firm" with them. This is not a spa your visiting - it is a place that treats mental illness.
