Just stayed at this hotel September 7 to 11 and was very pleased. I know the hotel is under renovations but they are doing their best to be accommodating. I would like to commend Ashleigh McNeil at the front desk for being so helpful upon our check in and through out our stay. I do not understand the low ratings some people have posted. I understand they need to be open during renovations. Guest need to just be a little patient. I stay here every year and will continue. I had no complaints at all with this stay.
Stayed here for NYE and was not disappointed. Upon walking in, I was greeted by Sophia who was an absolute delight. My interactions with her with nothing short of top tier customer service and genuine kindness. Every person on staff that I encountered was so nice and honestly fun because they all had such great personalities. The room was so comfortable and had a killer view of the ocean and the city we opted for partial view of the ocean. Very clean room and hotel, great amenities, plenty of coffee... And I recommend the $9 breakfast for two; lots of food options and it was super tasty. Sophia and the rest of the staff at Sheraton, along with the space, exceeded all expectations. Will be back!
My overall experience was far better than I thought it would be after reading the reviews. My room was clean with the exception of there being sand, cigarette butts and straws on my balcony. I called downstairs and they sent someone up to clean the balcony. There was a hole in the bathroom wall where I guess they were fixing something behind the wall and did not cover or patch it up. The elevators were awful because two elevators is not enough for a fully booked hotel with 10 floors. However, I didn’t let those few things ruin my stay. The staff was more than accommodating, our actual room was very clean, we checked in and out with ease. Even the other guests were quite friendly. I took away one star because like others I feel like they should let people know that they are doing renovations so that guests can decide if they want to deal with the inconveniences or not. Would I stay with them again? Maybe, but not until they are completely done with the renovations.
Clean room and gorgeous oceanfront views. The staff was incredible! They were so friendly and helpful when offering recommendations. Front desk, wait staff, housekeeping, bar staff were all so positive and accommodating. When I come back I can’t wait to see them! Especially Mason at the bar! Great drinks and conversation.Rooms: 5/5
I'm giving this one star but if I could give it a zero, I would. I strongly advise anyone not to stay here. It is absolutely not worth your money. The descriptions of the hotel and room are very misleading. We had to wait three hours past check-in time because they were understaffed. When we finally got to our room, it was not clean, the lock on the door was broken, the shower did not work properly and the walls were so thin it feels like you are sharing a room with your neighbors. We spent the entire vacation waiting for maintenance to fix the door because we could leave our room with a door that can't lock. Maintenance told us to just work around it. They made us stay in a barely functioning and honestly unsafe room and refused to give us any other room despite paying $500/per night and not getting the room we paid for. Additionally the entire building only has two elevators that don't even work well and it is such a hassle to go in and out of your room. Please stay anywhere else but here. It is an absolute disappointment.
Location is great and the brand name Sheraton is great, but the greatness stops here. I need more space to point out all the negative comments about this hotel. Property is in desperate need of upgrade, it feels like a bad motel at Jersey shore people who know Jersey shore. 11 floors and most of the time 1 elevator is working. No room services service for 7 days even asking for it. “2” towels, no coffee or any other service. No ice machine, no cleaning, elevator is in bad shape. I can go on and on but, you got my point. You are better off booking motel across the street for half the price. This hotel not worth your money.
We stayed here a week ago, and boy was it disappointing. With the Sheraton name, one assumes a reasonable standard, but despite some herculean efforts from obviously well intentioned staff, this hotel simply should not be open to the public at the moment, or at least should be steeply discounted. Firstly, the lobby bathrooms were closed, noticeable when it takes 45 minutes to check in. Out room was overbooked, so we were downgraded to a smaller room. The door stuck, so it took a shoulder to the door to open or close. The air conditioning did not work, and the solution was to not use the thermostat, and instead use the controls on the unit after discarding the cover into the hall alongside a pile of the same covers. The balcony door would not open without serious force due to some issue with the rollers. Maintenance had to come fix it. The bathroom was tiny and had no fan. The one surprising feature was a separate spray hose which was helpful in cleaning up after being at the beach. Of course the handle fell apart after the first use. Part of the dresser seemed to be rotting. The pool was really disgusting and patrons had left Styrofoam bowls and cups which were blowing around and into the pool, whi h was also full of sand. I could go on, but I will just again say that had it not been such a disappointing drag on our short little 2 day stay, it would have been funny how much was wrong. I'll add that this was on LABOR DAY WEEKEND. This hotel should just not be open in the state it's in, certainly not during peak season.
Our stay at this hotel was terrible. When we arrived at 5:30pm, our room was still not ready. We were told to wait in the lobby because it would be ready shortly but the lobby did not have air conditioning. When we asked if we could sit in the restaurant which was not open, we were told no because our dog who was in a stroller could not enter. This hotel was advertised as pet friendly. The elevators were extremely small and slow. The hallways did not have air conditioning. The restaurant where breakfast was served did not have air conditioning and there were flies. It was also not complementary and $15 a person. The hotel did not have easy access to the beach from the lobby and construction was in process around the pool area. Considering it was July and prime vacation season, I expected the hotel to be complete or renovations completed at a different time. Fortunately our room had air conditioning but many people were leaving due to no air in their rooms. When you pay a large amount of money to have a nice vacation, it’s very disappointing when your hotel does not meet your standards.
I BEG YOU, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! It is the worst hotel I have stayed at in my entire life. They are under renovation but they have a looooonnng way to go but no matter how much they are going to apologize, they will not try to accommodate you. The elevators are filthy and there is no air circulating. The phones in all the rooms does not work. The rooms and the hallway smells like animals and mildew. They do not come and clean your room everyday. They were out of towels most nights. One of the rooms was drenched in water, not sure from what so they had to move us. All the ice machines on each floor does not work. The air conditioning in another room did not work. There is building materials everywhere and it is a hazard. The security guard shut the pool area down at different times each night and as we inquired about other places to go she told us that we could "go to bed", at 10 pm. The overall experience was well below satisfactory. I really can't believe how bad this place is...like I am in shock.
Realistically this was a 2 star experience. 1. Check in took forever even with just one family ahead of us when we got there. The front desk person had no idea what he was doing. 2. Finally got to our room only to find ANOTHER FAMILY IN THERE. Double booked, which the same front desk person said the confusion was that we had the same last name… mind you this is one of the top 3 most common last names in the country. 3. Elevator doors don’t open up all the way. 4. No AC in the hallways, which makes the rooms struggle to stay below 73. I set my thermostat to 68 but it never got below 73. 5. We did get moved from a partial ocean view to full ocean view due to the room mixup, so that’s why this is a 2star review instead of 1. 6. The room itself was nice and the view was great, balcony was big enough for two people to sit and enjoy the view. 7. Having a Mellow Mushroom basically in the building was great—really good pizza. 8. Plan to have check-out take a while due to EVERYONE using the elevators at the same time. Also they need more than 2 tiny elevators. 9. Staff was friendly minus one staff member was rude to me.
