I was not sure about staying here but I am kind of glad we did. We spent one night here. We tried to check in at 3:45 and were told that the room was not ready and that check-in was at 4:00. It was after 5:00 when we were told our room was ready. We opened the room to find the bed had not been made. We finally got into our room around 5:30. Oops... There is a lounge off the reception area but it's dark and uninviting. Our room was quite nice - very large. One of the towels was stained, but the whole place was rather tired and stained. This Shilo Inn must have been really something back in the day. It's sad to see it run down with staff who don't really care about it they are probably not paid enough to care. We walked down the long hall through the convention center on our way to the attached restaurant. In its prime, this would have been an impressive place. So many conference rooms. The restaurant must have been a great location to have a good dinner. It was mostly empty when we ate there. They have turned what would have been the lounge into a sports bar - probably the best way to make some money. Our waitress was wonderful. Two thumbs up for her! Our food was fine - nothing special but good. The price for the meal was okay. Would I stay there again? Maybe - rooms around the airport are so expensive and this place is very convenient - just a quick drive to the rental car return. Would I recommend it? If you don't mind waiting for your room, you enjoy some history - even though it's rather melancholic history - and your don't mind sleeping in an old & tired place that has seen better days. I would not simply write it off but I know some would not dare pull into the parking lot. What type are you?
Don't forget to use Hoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. This site will compare countless booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the best in this area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you won't regret it. The person upfront working the desk was a older lady with long hair and she was absolutely wonderful and so nice, definitely needs a raise. She was working the night shift on a Thursday. Absolutely will be back.
The photos in the room say everything. But the 'exit' light clicked on over 100 times in the night so, absolutely no one could sleep. We didn't need or want an ADA rm. The desk said this room was fine. The hotel is 1 star if they sell this as great room. I don't know what the red splatter was on both wall by the bed. The sofa had metal items on it and the sheets had black fibers all over.
Room was very spacious & nice. Room was very clean and stocked. Both of the ladies at check-in & check-out were both so kind. Seems a little more pricier than I remember Shilo being, but I can honestly say that it seems like it has made many improvements, and has made the place nicer to stay at. Food & drinks: They have the Bella restaurant connected to the Shilo, which has video poker, not much for service there but I can honestly say I ordered a Reuben from there and it was the best Reuben that I have had in a long long time. Poker machines hit decent amounts both for me and my man.
The worst place I have ever been to. The front desk lady in the day was so rude. They refuse to give me a key to my room because I'm under 18 so I had to wait till my parents came and got a key. I asked the manager "why" and she said it was policy but when I ask the other staff they said it was not true and they don't know why they said that. They have been so rude to me and my family making us feel unwelcome. The manager is the one who is the most rude to us she demands us to pay rudely. The other lady's who work at the front desk have never had a problem giving me a key just the one woman in the day. I have never been treated this way. The place smells like smoke and it's vary strong. I wouldn't recommend to stay here unless you want to be refunded a key to your room or feel unwelcomed.
I'd stay here again for sure! Attentive staff under pressure during the icestorm. Studs for shuttle drivers in the mayhem of bad roads. Comfy bed and large rooms! Relaxing pool and hot tub, delicious restaurant!Rooms: 5/5
Only went because I got a deal. Friendly staff. Rooms are decent, clean, and large. Night life is.. active and somewhat intimidatingly scary. Lots of stolen vehicles in the parking lot and you can tell some people are there to purchase/sell drugs. I’m always nervous to leave my car unattended here.
Bed skirts ripped/torn, only 1 towel in a 2 queen bedroom, hair in tub, staff was having a pretty intence convo using fowl and language behind the FD wall, no towels in the pool are so staff nominated me to fill the shelfs, shuttle took a long to for pick up. But the staff was courteous and friendly.Rooms: 2/5
Nice, comfy bed and living space. Our only complaint would be the shower: there was no way to change water temperature, and the bath faucet was not an option. These were very disappointing.Rooms: 4/5
I always thought shilo was a great place to stay untill the other night . There is no excuse for such disrespect from an employee towards a customer . The woman wouldn't give me her name . She was so terribly rude I'm here to change my review. I will never stay there or subject anyone to that sort of service . Sorry shilo pick better employees that don't try to scam and lie and have respect for the company and its customers .
