Shine in the Heights

I love Shine in the Heights! The location is super charming, everyone who works there is very friendly, and the stylists are truly talented. Josie is by far the best stylist I've ever had! She gets it right every time and makes great suggestions and recommendations for whatever I have in mind. Getting my haircuts with her is money very well spent!

Update: the salon called me and offered me a hydration treatment and a master styling to fix them once they grow out a little more, all on the house, to apologize. I appreciate the way they handled the situation. I will probably come back for future hair needs but won't be returning to Gwen. Original: Gwen messed up my hair completely. I went in for fringe bangs with an inspo pic, she gave me straight choppy bangs. I went in my car and cried afterwards because it looked so bad. I attached the picture I showed and what I left with... I'm glad hair grows out but I can't believe I wasted money on this.

It is always a pleasure to go to Shine in the Heights and be taken care of by Tristan! He carefully looks at my hair each visit, color, cut grow out, condition of my hair, then he always makes suggestions on what we need to do. He’s meticulous with color, very precise with cutting and patient and creative with blowdrying. My hair looks like moving piece of art when he’s finished! Tristan is delightful to be with too!

I called and asked if Shine had a stylist who could cut a mean french bob. The receptionist immediately recommended Jude. It was a great recommendation— she did an excellent job on a hairstyle you rarely see in Houston. I will be coming back for sure. Also they give free bang and neck trims!

Very comfortable and relaxing place. Everyone was very kind. Mary did a great job. I like the cut and I appreciate that she took the time to find out what I wanted and then showed me how to style it in a practical way. My new salon.

Josie is always on time if not early and she does a fantastic job meeting my needs. She always gets it right….and I feel amazing when I leave! And she’s also spot on with the recommendation on products!

Konstantine was amazing. AAAAA++++ The second I met him, I knew he was wonderful. I showed him a photo of what I wanted done to my hair, and he walked me through every process. Also I have strong ptsd with allowing anyone to cut my hair, but Konstantine understood and he didn't pressure me into anything I didn't want to do. Konstantine is fabulous! He gives a great cut and offers adventurous options for new styles for me and doesn’t mind cutting my husband’s hair the same way.

It’s always fabulous to see Mary! She always does a wonderful job. Sometimes I don’t know what style I want. She knows exactly what looks good on me! I feel like She and I can talk for hours. She is a Wonderful person. The staff is always so friendly and so kind! I have been coming here possibly for three years now. I highly recommend this place!
