After owning the Asai restaurant for 18 years, the former owner has retired, and taking over are the owners of Shine's Sushi, Shine and Mia. They are originally from southern mainland China, and immigrated to Alaska where they lived for about 18 years. During that time, they operated Shine's from 2003-2014, serving fine Asian cuisine to the small town of Eagle River, such as Vietnamese pho, sushi, and Thai curry. Throughout those years, they maintained a well-known reputation, holding customer satisfaction first. Now they are here in Belmont, where they hope to become a part of the community by their tradition of providing good food and service.
