Jellyfish, dry squid, celery and scallion dish was very tasty. The braised duck dish has one of the best sauces I've ever had.
Excellent. Different. Salt and pepper seafood was great, but even better was the fried tofu and eggplant Thai style. Home made tofu. Spectacular. Not cheap. Good food is not cheap.
It’s grossed when I realized the scrub fragment is in my mouth. But the taste overall is all right.
I have been here 2 or 3 times with my family now and also have had take out a few times. I can't say I've had Taishanese food before so I'd have to defer to a friend of mine when she tries it but I can say that my family all enjoyed it. In fact the flavors are very homey that we're convinced my grandma would approve if she ever felt like flying here. The eel rice.... oh man. There is a lot going on that works really well with the spices and herbs used... the different textures from having crispy rice on the sides and etc. If you can afford to splurge on it, should definitely try it. The fillet grouper cubes with chili spicy salt / dry garlic is kinda basically your salt / pepper fried fish in chinese restaurants but it is fried really well compared to most other places. Personally I'd like a tad more seasoning but that is me. Their veggies like snow pea sprouts may seem a bit pricy but you definitely get like a mountain of veggies and it is also made well. The house special goose is good but I can't comment more on it as I'm also not a particular fan of goose. Lastly they have pretty good congee from what I tried, its just you will likely need to salt it as it is a tad bland otherwise but good consistency.
Get the Taishan yellow eel claypot rice! It's not commonly found and is on the front of the takeout pamphlet menu. They offer 3 sizes. Small can feed a family of 4 together with other ordered dishes. Very fragrant and can get crunchy at the bottom. It's a love it or hate it dish. Otherwise everything else is made very well. Whether it's stir fried vegetables or fried fish. May be able to taste wok hei or "breath of the wok" on their stir fried dishes.
check out the prices when you order the food. The menu prices are not the same as you ordering ...they are much higher . They claim the menu has old prices...but it is not the right way to do business .
Good food, friendly traditional service, authentically Chinese.Food: 4/5
Still good flavors, but the amount of salt/ msg is becoming overpowering now.
I like the food and it wasn't expensive
