The address of this nail salon is 117 Allen Toussaint Blvd. The name of the street WAS Robert E Lee. It is no longer as of February 1, 2022 People who refuse to accept this street name change keep changing the address of this nail salon on google as 117 W Robert E Lee, which is still a valid street name and completely different street. When using google GPS using the W Robert E Lee will direct you to the WRONG address. West Robert E lee is on the other side of Canal and is a small dead end street. It has a W in the name for WEST. It is not Robert E Lee. If google directs you to the the shopping mall that has a patio furniture store in it or a tall office building with urgent care in it. You are in the wrong spot. Please stop hassling the various employees in this other mall. We had nothing to do with the street name change, and do not want to hear your political views any longer, when you come in looking for Shiny Nails Take it up with the city not us. If you are looking for this Shiny Nails it's next to Roberts Grocery. Shiny Nails does not seem to keep up or lock the address in this Google profile. Again the correct address for this store is 117 ALLEN TOUSSAINT BLVD near Roberts and Walgreens.
I was surprised to see all the negative reviews. I go here all the time because they are open on Sunday which is when I usually have time to get a mani/pedi. While I can't say it's absolutely the best nail salon in town, I find it's solid-- ranging from, OK to very good. It depends on who you get-- there was one woman I dreaded having because she put Polish on too thick, but I don't think she works there any more. Everyone else does a pretty good job, and one younger woman does one of the best pedicures in town. It's not a chit-chatty salon, but that's fine by me. Nobody's ever been rude, just quiet, and I only ever had to wait very long one time. Truly, I was stunned to see all the bad reviews.
Terrible experience. I've tried this salon twice, and although they do a nice job, they are equally umwelcoming and manipulative. I've observed a worker frown as I walked though the door and later belittle me when I asked general questions. In addition, both times when I sat down for service I was pushed for an $18 fee. The first time was after service, but the second was before the nail artists even BEGAN to check me and my friends' nails. They gave no plausible reasons. Meaning although Shiny Nails' listed price for refill is $15, the artists systematically pushed for the higher price- as if they PLANNED it. If you value your money and respect, do not shop here. Patronage is strongly discouraged.
The next day i got my nails done the gel polish started to peel off. The lady didn't use any primer. When i went back to get them fixed the other lady drilled off the acrylic and never bothered to fix it she was just trying to put more gel polish to feel the gap. Save your money and time choose another place
Went to this place due to convenience, but will never return. They could not do any designs and when I got just one color all over gel it was lumpy and the polish is done horribly.Service: Nail art
I walked in at 5:50 for a fill and pedicure. The first lady took her slowest time on my "regular" pedicure, which lasted ONE HOUR. Then when it was time for my fill at 6:55, she realized I had gel polish on and one nail broken, she said my nails were too long and taking off gel polish was too hard that's what your drill is for...right. Had she said I was too late for both services, I would've gone somewhere else. VERY RUDE PEOPLE!!!!
