The owner of this restaurant is usually unfriendly when interacting with others. She was extremely rude to a co-worker of mine--we both work for a tenant in a nearby building. In a hot summer day 105°F, we were eating inside the restaurant. I had ordered food at the Sidewalk Cafe, but my friend had not. The owner came over to us and quietly said to my friend that if she sat down in her restaurant again without ordering, she'd ask her to leave. This is the treatment given to an employee of a tenant of Howard Hughes Center! I've told everyone at my office what happened, including my boss. Also, the food is overpriced for what you get. The nearby restaurants are a better value, have better food, and you'll get friendlier service.
DO NOT EAT HERE! They have the WORST food! Absolutely disgusting! The quality is worse than the nastiest of dive bar food!!! The only reason I have ordered from here more than once is because it is close to the office and the office orders for meetings and delivery is cheap. I’ve tried a grilled salmon salad and the salmon was so over cooked it was as tough as beef jerky and seemed like it was reheated from the day before. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich one time and it is supposed to come with pickles, but it had no pickles so the next time I ordered it I added in the comment section, “Please do not forget the pickles” and they charged me .75 cents for the pickles that it is supposed to come with. The chicken in the chicken salad is cubed processed meat and I got horribly sick after eating it. I refused to eat here ever again!!!! The OWNER IS THE RUDEST PERSON I have ever come encounter with! The employees have commented how RUDE the owner is. The only reason this place is still in business is because they deliver to the surrounding businesses.
I haven't been here in a long time due to my work location. I was greeted by the owner and I expressed how her deli is still my favorite in Las Vegas. While I was waiting for my yummy Pastrami sandwich, I observed the owner greeting people by name. There were a lot of regulars. I even overheard a gentleman recommending the Falafel to an out of town coworker. So many menu choices! Very clean as well.
The two stars is for the food which is decently priced, tasty and large portioned as well as the delivery men and women who do all the running to the businesses of Howard Hughes Center. They are fantastic. However, I'm done eating here because of the owner. She is inexcusably rude and treats you like something stuck to the bottom of her shoe. She will walk away in the middle of taking your order, and just holds out her hand for your payment without even telling you the order amount. Today I pointedly looked at the cash register and said aloud the total that I saw, and she glared at me. The fun part was just a moment later AFTER she ran my card, the total on the receipt and register display was about fifty cents more. It's not about the money, it's about the fact that I've continued to patronize the place and am essentially PAYING this woman to treat customers like crap. I'm done with that and I hope others will make the decision to be, as well.
I "WAS" a customer here for over 3 years. They are far from the best but their location was quite convenient. The reason I have rated them so low is simply because of the OWNER. She is rude and quite unprofessional. She uses practices that are questionable. At one point she was keeping the tips I was told this by at least 3 delivery people, when I asked about the quick turn around in employees. I have been told that this has since stopped. She also rounds up on the checks. $6.10 becomes $7.00. The owner also has an issue with the mistakes. They make plenty. My department alone 15 people order breakfast/lunch at least 5-10 times a week . Every order, there is a mistake. She argues EVERY time HER people make a mistake as if we are lying. Today for instance one of the orders was for a Breakfast Special Sandwich, this sandwich comes with eggs, bacon, sausage and ham. The customer ordered this sandwich WITHOUT sausage substituted bacon instead, which they charged extra for. The sandwich came with extra bacon ANS sausage! We called to tell her and she insisted that we had no idea what we were talking about. Said that her cook said that he didn't put sausage on the sandwich. I thinking...really??? We're lying about sausage on a sandwich? I told her "No" there is sausage on this sandwhich and we just wanted let you know that order is wrong. she became nasty and said that we were confusing the ham with sausage. WHO DOES THAT???? Who doesn't know sausage patty from sliced ham??? WHO??? Her negative attitude caused ours to flair and in the end my company Corporate offices for a large Hotel/Entertainment group will no longer be ordering from her establishment. It is a shame that she let her ignorance cost her $$$$ in a very limited delivery area Hughes Business Center. I will NEVER order from SideWalk Cafe again.
I eat breakfast here almost EVERY morning and I've tried nearly EVERYTHING on the menu and it is just perfection for my taste buds. I have been eating their breakfast burrito lately with bacon, sausage, and salsa on the side and I can't get enough of it. Look out Roberto's, Fausto's, and any other sorry excuse of a burrito restaurant and fear your new competitor: Sidewalk Café. I tend to eat a lot here because of my works location and I encourage everyone to give them a chance. You won't regret it.
My food came warm after being 20 mins late. We work in the same Hughes Center area. Should have been either early or right on time. Called all 3 numbers and not one single phone number was answered. First and last time I'll order from here.
You pay almost $10.00 for a breakfast sandwich and a 16 oz coke and then they want to charge you $0.10 for some jelly. What a ripoff and a joke!!! The sandwiches was salty and nast at that!!! First and last time eating there!!
Place seemed pretty cool until one day a lady said I wasn’t allowed to sit inside and eat and made me leave for absolutely no reason with a terrible attitude. I definitely will never go back that was a horrible experience.
Owner is not very nice to employees. Food taste ok at times just be careful what you order.
