Staff treats families of patients terribly, bayonetting the wounded by rubbing their faces in the amount of care given already given by the family. In our case it was someone who CHOSE to live on the streets after years of trying to help. We also have other special needs members. Worst of all, they did this to the children too, who don't have the emotional or financial means to help. They further wound the wounded by their morally superior act. The make phony replies to reviews on other platforms. Also sketchy neighborhood, just off Colfax and no visble security as patients walk around outside. Family member died under suspicious circumstances and they couldn't get him to the crematorium fast enough
My sister lived at Sierra Rehab from August 2017 to Oct 2, 2017 and received the most wonderful care from all of the staff. From the helpful and thoughtful social worker, to the nurses, CNAs. activity gals and housekeeping staff, my sister received the best of care and oversight as she transitioned from being admitted for rehab to gently slipping into hospice protocol. The staff creates a community feeling and some of the patients help out which benefits everyone. I felt the positive energy of Sierra from the first day until my sister's peaceful passing in this caring place. The staff was very kind, compassionate and friendly to me as well and that helped me at a difficult time.
What follows is the text of the thank you note I was moved to send to the Sierra team on August 3, 2021: It was for the saddest of reasons that I boarded a plane in Chicago last Wednesday the 28th and flew to Denver, and from there cabbed it to Lakewood. Sitting bedside while my childhood friend Eric Alenius drew his final breaths was incredibly difficult. But the courteousness, kindness, and solicitousness of every staff member I encountered during my two visits helped to cushion the ordeal. A special thanks to Kelly for her great thoughtfulness in telling me that when Eric learned I was coming he grew excited; considering that he was barely responsive during the hours I was with him, I don’t know how true this really was, which only adds to the thoughtfulness of the gesture. I remain also thankful for Kelly’s assistance in helping me find a place to stay that night. Also, a special shout-out to the cheerful gal who secured permission for me to sit with my friend an hour before the eight o’clock opening on my second visit when she saw me sitting outside waiting. I didn’t ask to be admitted early--she took it upon herself. Because of her thoughtfulness I was able to spend more time with my friend before I had to catch my return flight home. A special thanks also to the lovely lady who spent time answering additional questions in the hallway outside Eric’s room before I left was her name Cheryl? My apologies if I am wrong. God bless you all. You’re a great team doing great work in the one of the toughest jobs of all.
I have worked at Sierra for nearly four years now, .and worked in health care at two other homes prior to sierra, and my experience at Sierra has been a blessing. My administrator, DON, and ADON have been incredibly helpful, caring, and flexible. I have always felt welcome and open to talk to any of my supervisors and management about any concerns, and their follow up has always been incredible. With the great management, incredible CNAs and Nurses, and the social service team all working their hardest, Sierra has become an incredible place not only to be employed but to live. I am eternally grateful for this amazing job, thank you to Daniel Webb, Adisa Ramirez, and Margaret Baca.
Just started working there about a month ago. I look forward to working everyday with a great housekeeping team led by Mauricio, who makes sure we have all the tools we need to make residents feel at home. Great overall staff. Feels good to be helping our residents on a daily basis.
My father stayed here for two weeks before passing away. This was unexpected but they did everything to help him and our family. They really made him as comfortable as possible and that helped us start to process what was happening. I really appreciate the doctor, nurses and administration for how they treated my father. They are very near to my heart.
I worked here as a clinical instructor during several rotations for a Denver based Nursing School. What I saw was a committed staff that genuinely cared about their residents and the facility as a whole was run extremely well by Adisa the DON. From the CNAs to the RNs I really appreciated the care they modeled for my students. They do good work.
