The building is a little hard to find. The office is clean, the front desk receptionist is polite and inviting. However, I knew I wasn’t going to have a pleasant experience during my exam. The technician performing the MRI scan is lazy in his ability to support his patients.I began to feel pain, distress, and claustrophobic. Especially since the tech didn’t provide support during the procedure. I asked how long it would take and he said 15 minutes but he never talked me through it. I began to panic because I didn’t know what to expect in regards to time. After my exam I sat up completely stressed because I was breathing so hard my heart was pounding. He then tells me he had to go a bit longer because I had moved several times. If you need an MRI either avoid this place or keep in mind that the older, friendly tech really isn’t as attentive as he wants to come off to be.
Scheduling an appointment is always hard with this company. After scheduling, everything went pretty smoothly. I always have to remember to remind them of giving me a CD copy before I leave. They don't give a copy of MRI unless we ask them.
The staff was welcoming and kind. The technician, John, couldn't have been more thoughtful explaining the procedure. Wonderful added bonus, he was very efficient! Absolutely 5 gold stars!
Lost my insurance authorization & NO ONE called me to tell me. I booked this appointment while I was out of town, a day before I had to leave town, & I showed up to find I couldn’t get my MRI. Front desk lady brushed me off so quickly. With such incompetence, it’s surprising they’re still open.
I'm afraid our experience was not great. They said x-ray can be walk in but they made me wait over an hour - the reception was empty, not a single person came in or out the whole time. The x-ray after all that wait took 53 seconds. SimonMed has automated to cut costs, but mostly nothing works. The check-in is supposed to be automated, but after trying for 20 times the screen kept saying "sorry no one is available" see photo. When I called on the phone, only got 30 mind on hold but no answer. On Simonmed.com, chat does not help at all - most options direct to call them!
I was very stressed and nervous to get my MRI done- since I am claustrophobic and already had to cancel one app week prior. The technician was so nice and understanding. He made me feel good and comfortable. Surprisingly, to me, I was able to have my MRI done and don't have to repeat it again.
No one to check you in. You're meant to use a computer. The first computer screen prompts you to press a button. I did, and nothing happened, so I followed the arrow to the door. I opened the door and the MRI tech looked at me like I was illegally trespassing on his property and would shoot me if I made sudden movements. He was so rude, it was unbelievable. I went back into the check-in room. Pressed the same button on the other computer, nothing happened for about 2 minutes until finally someone picked up and then was disconnected and someone else picked up. There wasn't a single sign directing you to check in via computer or directing you to wait while someone connects. The computer screen didn't even show that it was connecting to a call. After checking me in, they hung up and did not tell me how long I would be waiting. The MRI experience was even worse. The tech did not tell me how long I would be in there I kept thinking it would be over soon, but it ended up being half an hour per side. I said I was cold and asked for a blanket- he did not get me one. We were scanning an injury, which he proceeded to secure by covering it with a 10 lb weight extremely painful. When I told him it hurt, instead of instructing me or securing it differently with straps he just put me back in the scanner with no instructions, with no weight, after telling me the scans would not be clear if I moved. As he was pressing the button to move me back in the MRI, I asked if he was going to secure my arm and he responded with "I'm not putting a weight on it, you told me it hurt." He was so rude. The straps on the MRI were soiled- it was disgusting. And after confirming insurance coverage prior to my appointment; they decided to wait until my appointment to tell me they were no longer contracted with my insurance company, so I was not fully covered. This place is hot garbage. Find somewhere else to go. I regret not leaving and making an appointment elsewhere.
The lady at the reception area is helpful. The technician is fine to deal with. The reason I am giving 3 stars is when I arrived for my first visit, their software system is down and I couldn't do the MRI. I need to come for a second visit to get my MRI done.
The nice lady at the front desk could not be any more professional her customer service is Impeccable and can’t be beat she gives a huge warm welcome when you entire the facility she is great ! Technician is very professional makes sure customers are comfortable.
Update: What I learned from my doctor today is even more shocking. The doctor had "NEVER" asked for contrast. SimonMed was unnecessarily going to use contrast on my son. Glad my husband walked out that day because if contrast was going to be used--we had other pending MRI orders. Now what I learned is that our doctor doesn't need the contrast. Second--this person who is responding here to negative posts does so for fishing information. They have no intention of offering better customer service or help. I would be very wary of SimonMed. Looks like it has been purchased recently by another group. You could be getting contrast without proper instructions such do not eat for 4 hours before the exam or check your kidney function if there are doubts. This is not a responsible medical facility. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very frustrating experience scheduling an MRI. My son's doctor referred us to this facility for a sinus MRI. After reaching there, they told us that the request required injecting a contrast we recently found out this is false--the doctor never asked for contrast. If contrast was going to be administered anyway, we had other MRI requests from other doctors which we wanted to merge. My husband clearly told the facility to leave a big enough slot for 3 MRIs with and without contrast. This was 3 weeks in advance. They told him "not to worry, the whole day is free--we will leave a long enough slot." We were traveling in between to the UK and my husband called the facility again from UK confirming a long slot was left. They said yes--this was just 4 days before the scheduled appointment. We then connected with all the other doctors and got the additional MRI orders but just a day before the facility told us that they now have a patient booked right in the middle of my son's 2-hr appointment. My husband has his entire schedule at office worked out for this appointment and frustrating enough this will be our third attempt with SimonMed. It's not a minor inconvenience when the medical facility is located miles away and they make no proactive effort to understand the exact order and schedule responsibly. The phone agent was helpful but extremely talkative and not once was he apologetic about the fact that SimonMed had screwed up our confirmed schedule at the last minute. Coming from UK, one could see how screwed up we are in customer service in the US. No apologies here and blame the customer/patient as if it is their fault. My original appointment was most convenient for me and had everything gone as planned--SimonMed would get a 5-star review. I will be sure to give this feedback to our doctor who sent us there.
