Maybe the best vegan food on Oahu, definitely among my favorite vegan restaurants!! It’s such a joy to be able to order off an entire great menu without having to worry about looking for the vegan section. The Banana Flower salad is a fantastic starter, I love #42 The Spring Roll Noodle and #24 Joy Noodle Soup. But I don’t think you can go wrong anywhere on the menu. Super friendly staff!! Thank you Simple Joy for being a delicious vegan restaurant!!
We had the Vegetable tempura which came with a side of a sweet and spicy sauce. The crispy tofu in the tempura was really good! For the main course, we ordered the Joy noodle soup and Puttanesca pasta. The soup was the best noodle soup my wife and I have ever had. The serving size is also pretty big so we had to pack the pasta and it tasted okay when cold. But we're definitely going back for the soup. They have a few parking spots at the back of the building, so do check that out before trying to find roadside parking.
A lucky find by BFF who reads Crave diligently. Variety, creativity, tastes all excellent. Enjoyed the Shrimp Nest; Summer Roll, Spring Roll, and the highlight: Banana Flower Salad. So many flavors and textures. Features: Tables arranged apart. Arrived early so we beat the crowd that started going in as we left.
Best vegan food on the island! When we travel the hardest part is finding vegan options for my husband. We stopped here for lunch and everything was fantastic. We're only disappointed we didn't find this place until the end of our trip.
We have tried the food two times so far and had great experience both the times - their vegetable fried rice is simply very good We also liked other items we ordered.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
The food is absolutely fantastic. Parking on the street is free. Service is fast and courteous. Smoothies taste like real fruit, highly recommended the banana and strawberry. Get both. Thank me later. Shrimp nest and fried won tons was perfect, Joy noodle soup, vegetable clay pot and spring rolls were amazing. We'll definitely be coming back! Kid-friendliness: When kids love the vegan food, you know you picked a winner. Parking: Street front, free. Dietary restrictions: Vegan menu. Gluten free items and options are clearly listed.
Everything was delicious! Even for my husband, that is a meat eater! I want to back and try other dishes.
Simple restaurant with delicious vegetarian food. Loved their curry noodle soup with tofu and I think that it is the best I’ve ever tried!
Great place for Vegan dining even if you aren't. I went in expecting to ask the classic question "is it vegan?" but I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I sat down to see the cover over the menu saying ALL ITEMS ARE VEGAN!!! Total win. So much good food to pick from on the menu. I went for the quesadilla which was amazing and the Simple Joy Soup again a great choice. Service was great since I was the only dine-in customer. The only down-side of the whole experience was the temperature of the dining room. I asked if the AC was broken when I was paying the check and the response was disheartening. The AC only gets turned on for dinner service right now so that they can keep cost down. So, I beg anyone reading this to go get your meals at Simple Joy so they can turn AC on during the day. Maybe it won't be so dang hot the next time I want to eat some great Vegan food.
I asked the waitress which of the dishes are spicy. She pointed to an item on the menu. While I was asking about the other items on the menu, she left in between without saying anything and came back after sometime. She didn’t ask me which spice level I wanted and served us a dish which was hotter than the sun. When I asked them about it I was told “you said spicy, it’s not my fault”. Learn how to communicate and treat your customers better. I would not recommend this place.
