My wife and I both had a lovely dinner at this awesome new place! We both had the Cuban sandwiches along with several delicious sides, and the restaurant serves beer and, soon, other adult beverages. The place was super clean, the staff was terrific, and the owner was just wonderful. So glad to have this veteran-owned business, and the other fine establishments, in the area!
A sweet spot in the crossroads of Cross Plains. We had been going 45 minutes in the opposite direction to find Cuban food. This is only 30 minutes on a two-lane country road with beautiful scenery. At the end of that drive you find yourself at a sweet little town hosting new food. We never expected to find Cuban food here but it was delicious and so worth the drive. We had the mango chicken thighs with rice and a side of plantains. We also got the pork and a Cuban sandwich. Everything was delicious. The service was quick. It's a bit cramped but no big deal. We loved it and look forward to returning.
Omg.... LOVE!!!!! I stopped by at lunch time and was helped by Bailey ?I hope I got the name right It was completely empty , I don't have pictures of the inside but I found it cute. I got the cafe con leche Expresso & Milk pictured Mmmmm yummy : I usually like my coffee with lots of cream and sugar , unless it's really good coffee, then it doesn't need much of anything. This was really good coffee. You pour the Expresso into the hot maybe steamed? milk and for me 2 packs of sugar and *muah chef's kiss* delicious Next I got the croquetas also pictured after I took a bite lol Ugh I could really go for some of those right now , the outside breading was so perfectly crisp, you don't even know... But you should definitely have some and find out. The inside idk what's in there besides ham? Maybe , don't know , don't care it's amazing It comes with a homemade mango sauce. I have hardly ever in my life liked sweet stuff together with my savory food. But this sauce right here... Try it. Awesome . Next the main course I got the Bistec con cebolla steak & onions with a side of beans & rice & sweet plantains. Steak is thin sliced great seasonings ,soft/juicy and cooked well, rice is plain white rice but this is perfect because once you put it together with the beans , they have all the flavor you need. Plantains cooked perfectly, just look at them, not too greasy, not burnt , & sweet I was seriously blown away by everything I ordered, this is the best food I have had in a very very long time and right now I'll say it's my new favorite restaurant. The service was great, Bailey was very sweet and attentive, and on top of everything. I don't usually write reviews anywhere near this long, but many of my favorite places have closed down & I hope that this review will help this restaurant thrive and stay open for a long long time.
Excellent food! We tried the Cuban sandwich, Bistec empanizado, and lechon asado. Everything tasted wonderful, and they give you plenty of food. We got to meet the owner, and she’s just lovely. We will definitely visit here again - can’t wait to try out more of the menu!Food: 5/5
I loved everything about it here! The atmosphere is cozy with a hint of modern, the owner is charming and came over to the table herself to check on us and the food was absolutely, completely delicious! I really cannot wait to go back and eat my way through everything on the menu! I had the rope vieja- it was delicious! With tomato base and spices that were perfectly balanced. The rice was perfect and the black beans were delicately season, rich and delicious. I cannot wait to go back!

We tried Simply Cuban Kitchen for the first time and tried a little bit of everything. It was all delicious! I definitely recommend getting the appetizer sampler plate. The restaurant was cute and very clean. The owner came by the table to introduce herself and check on us. We will be back for sure!Food: 5/5
This place... let me just say... I am a native Miamian. I grew up surrounded by Cuban Cuisine and Culture. Walking into this establishment made me a little less homesick. The family that owns and runs this restaurant is incredibly friendly. You can tell they put their heart and soul into this place. I came in for the empanadas. I had no idea they had croquetas on the menu as well. I squealed when I i saw them. Yes I legit squealed and did a happy dance in my seat. So I ordered both. Let me start with the empanadas. They were filled with a delicious seasoned beef in a flakey pastry deep fried to a golden perfection. Served with a side of the mango-peach-jalapeno sauce. So amazingly good. They reminded me of the ones they served at a cuban cafe around the corner from where I grew up. You get 2 and it was enough for a full meal. I could only eat one and I was full. The croquetas. If youve never had one, think of what a fried cheese stick would look like. But instead of being filled with cheese, its filled with ham and breaded then fried. i personally like eating them with strawberry jelly but thats my own preference. The croquetas served here dont need anything with them. They taste amazing just as they are. My daughter kept trying to steal them off my plate. Please dont hesitate to give this place a try if your in the area. Or even if your not. It is well worth the drive. Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere, great service. I will be back!
The only problem I have with Simply Cuban Kitchen was my decision to not visit sooner. Dinner last night was amazing. The food was so flavorful, hot, and beautifully made. We will definitely return.Food: 5/5
Deçor is sweet, nice small bar and small gathering of tables. Quiet enough to carry on conversations. Appetizers were hot, fried but not greasy. Main dishes were ok. Fried Potatoes were amazing, as were the salted plantains. Mmmm. Not only was our server unable to answer our questions about the food, we never saw the waitress after she brought our food. We had to wait for a server for our bills.
