Story

The Hotel Donaldson in Fargo’s revitalized downtown offers far more than a place to sleep. Art-filled rooms; beds you’ll linger in; artisan cuisine paired with wine, beer, and spirits; and friendly, experienced staff members create a memorable experience.

After more than 100 years as a hotel, the building took on its current life in 2003 after a three-year renovation process. Since then, The Hotel Donaldson has become recognized for its exceptional hospitality and its role as a central location for downtown Fargo’s nightlife, dining, and culture.

The HoDo Restaurant
Located in The Hotel Donaldson, The HoDo Restaurant, was granted a Four Diamond rating by AAA, a coveted designation awarded to fewer than three percent of AAA-recognized restaurants. The restaurant is currently the only restaurant in the state of North Dakota to receive the award. The Restaurant features seasonal menus of house made dishes with a focus on natural, organic and sustainable products from local purveyors.

The HoDo Lounge
The HoDo Lounge is the place to be. Enjoy hand-selected wines, scotches, and cordials and your favorite beers and liquors–all prepared by our inventive mixologists. Relax with friends while you enjoy a special wine. Show out-of-town guests the sights of downtown as you toast with perfectly blended martinis. Take in the local flavors of art, music, and special brews as you wind up for or down from the night. We feature an extensive collection of hand-selected wines, scotches and cordials from around the world. Our wine list is updated frequently and includes cellar selections sure to please any collector. We carry a large selection of imported and domestic beers and an extensive liquor inventory. We make our drinks with great pride, care, and flair.
