This place has incredibly predatory and shady practices. They charged me $70 for a bottle of Vermouth that I later found is only $10 dollars in other liquor stores. I was livid. I like to support local but not when they rip you off.
They will profile people and discriminate against you. If they do they won't let you pay with cash
A 12-pack of modelo and a single tall boy for over $28? I also noticed that when I paid with a card I would get overcharged. I’m all for supporting a small business as I grew up helping my father with his liquor store, but I am not for price gouging and theft.
I used to come in every week but, like many other reviews have said there’s a lot of sketchy things going on with charging cards. I went in to purchase a drink and chips, first apparently to use a card here you have to have more than $5 charged, then proceeded to tell me my payment hadn’t gone through even though I had clearly shown them on my banking app that it had gone through. They argued with me over it & were pretty rude about it and I eventually put my card back in only for them to lo and behold, charge me twice. I called a week later to ask about it because it wasn’t a pending charge and they told me there was nothing they could do and I’d have to contact my bank. I ended up having to go through a dispute with my bank for the double charge. Maybe don’t argue with customers especially when they clearly show you what’s been charged. I haven’t been back since and I won’t be going back any time soon.
Never had problems here like what other people are describing. They have double charged me before but the double charge dropped off my card without me having to do anything so I guess they noticed it and fixed it. I had a broken Elf Bar and they took it back no questions asked and gave me a new one. So really the only problem I have with them is that the prices are ludicrous. Sometimes 2-3 times what they should be.
Convenient for people in the neighborhood but the prices are just ridiculous AND mostly are not readily available or posted. Example from today, two 4 packs of Faux Pas canned cocktails for $46. They retail for $11-$15 for a 4 pack in the rest of the downtown area. Pretty sure they jacked up the prices from last week even. Feels shady to me, be warned.
If you haven't received a hug from Elsa....you're missing out! I love the staff - they may not know what to recommend but it's the smiles and warmth that keeps me coming back. I have to agree with other reviewers that the prices are not marked on 50% of the products. AND they are overpriced, however, they have a prime location. So, they're able to charge more. Mr B's off of 21st and Market is top notch if you're willing to walk a couple of blocks.
Convenient location in Downtown Denver. You can park your car run in, get what you need and be on your merry way quickly! Like I said it’s super convenient being just down the street from Coors Field!
Outrageous prices. Brought a 6-pack of IPA’s up to the counter the other day and it was $23. For a 6-pack! Avoid this place like the plague.
Very friendly staff. I was looking for something refreshing. They recommended this wine made from lemons. It was like adult lemonade!
