While the staff was very friendly and helpful, it was painfully obvious how short-staffed they were. Everyone was running on a skeleton crew. We were with friends who had been going there yearly and were surprised by how lacking it had become. I'm sorry that the fine restaurant they used to have there is no longer in operation, and they aren't sure what to do with it. Regardless, the place is beautiful. I love how the groups of cabins are arranged around a central courtyard. The rooms are comfy and cozy. If you have a loft, getting down can be a bit hairy. But, again, a few maintenance lapses here and there reminded me of their staff shortages. I loved the remote feeling being ten minutes from town and the numerous nooks for finding quiet solitude. The organic garden is lovely. Although the hint is that they use the produce from that garden, I didn't see that reflected in the Pantry. Despite the struggles with staffing, I would still recommend this place if you want quiet and a break from electronics.
I had an incredible time throughout my stay here. I was met by Travis in the lobby, which was a very pleasant spot to start my day. Speaking with Travis felt "like home"; he was exceedingly considerate and nice. When I informed him that it was my birthday, he began to give food on the house! What a lovely location to stay!Rooms: 5/5
Super fun place, only minutes from town. The rooms have clothing hooks all around the room, great to hang all of your clothes! The pool is cool, hot tub is hot! Highly recommended!Rooms: 5/5
You are really paying for location with this resort. It is away from the craziness of downtown Leavenworth and in a gorgeous spot super close to amazing hiking trails. We loved the location and the property is stunning. We enjoyed walking down to the river to take in the views. The cabins are super cute and cozy, just in need of a little attention. Ours had some chipping paint, scratches, and water damage on the ceiling and window trim of the bathroom. Nothing huge, but you expect a bit better for the price. Also note that if you have a cabin that shares a wall with another group, you are likely to hear them. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but felt it was just a bit pricy for the condition. SUPER location through and it was a gorgeous property!
I enjoyed staying at this resort although I did feel like a kid away at camp most of the time. The rooms were fine but some windows were hard to open and the screens need fixing. My favorite experience was the hot tub and the pool. I think the price was fair, but I would advise owners to spruce this place up a bit. Paint the cabins and tidy up the landscape with plants, etc... Rooms: Somewhat clean. 7/10. Beds were comfortable. Nearby activities: You need a car to get to most attractions. Safety: I was slightly concerned about safety but not enough to not enjoy my stay.
It feels that Sleeping Lady’s best days are about 30 years behind it. The location, layout and concept are wonderful. The rooms are tired and the staff feels very entry level. The reception process was not at all a resort experience, more of a “here’s your key.” The organic garden looks like it hasn’t been cared for in 5 years, there is paint chipping off the path posts, and their beautiful metal signs are covered in crude pieces covering up old paths. For a premium price this isn’t a premium place. Between the Four Seasons or Hampton Inn, this one is leaning pretty hard towards the Inn.
I recently attended a fundraiser for a charity that was hosted for three days at this resort. I don't typically write reviews online, but I just had to for Sleeping Lady. The resort was fantastic. Let me list a few reasons why: 1 Chef Micah. The food was unbelievable; I walked up and shook his hand to tell him it's the best I've ever had at a restaurant and to say he can come to our house any time haha. The lamb with a dijon mint pesto was a particularly incredible dish, and hearing the description of how he made it and other dishes was impressive. The bread baked from flour milled three days before, the mushrooms sourced from a few miles away, etc. made for a fresh and sophisticated meal. 2 Staff. From the manager Chuck to the kind desk clerk to the friendly greeting from the housekeeping staff as they drove by, the staff was top notch. Everyone was polite and helpful, and made us feel like welcome guests. 3 The location. The days were hot - up to 41 degrees - but the forested, beautiful grounds were still enjoyable. The paths are beautiful, the landscape varied, and the wildlife enjoyable. Multiple mornings I ran into deer as I walked to breakfast. 4 The rooms. We had the air conditioning running and were able to beat the heat in these beautifully simple and elegant rooms. The bed was comfortable, and we weren't disturbed by any sounds despite the fact that the resort was apparently 80-90% full while we were there. The conference rooms were beautiful too, and provided the perfect setting for our group. I would definitely consider going here again. Gagvimarjos!
We stopped for a quick bite while out on a "discover drive". Had 2 different sliders and some fries at the Cafe. All was delightful and the service was top notch. Cute little place. Drove around the "resort". Curious. Must not have seen the "resort" portion?Service: 5/5
This resort was such a wonderful weekend getaway for my bachelorette party with my friends! The rooms were incredible, the pool and hot tub were relaxing, and the view was breathtaking. This resort has the best possible atmosphere: summer camp, but luxurious! It’s a short drive to Leavenworth, which made sight-seeing and other activities super accessible and easy. Will definitely be back!
Underwhelmed. Paid over $500 for two nights. I guess my expectations were a little high. Bed sheets stained and had a hole. Room walls scuffed and dirty. Baseboards pulling away from the wall. Hot tub was small. Pool closed for the season and blocked off with caution tape. I had a room near the “pond” which was pretty dreary looking. Will likely stay in town next time.
