Cool place, fantastic service, unfortunately I specifically picked this place based on the burger reviews best burger ever and while it was a respectable basic burger, fresh ingredients, nice brioche bun, it was nothing special. The Philly cheese steak was average nothing special, having lived in south Philadelphia ,the most important thing lacking was caramelized onions and peppers, they were under cooked. I'm not a hater and this place has many positive qualities, I would certainly give it another chance....
Haven't been there in ages but full size bar burgers in Portland still don't get much better. Inside is a charming dive bar. Love the booths. Service was really good.
Loved my Slow Burger. Nice thick, juicy patty with a couple of delicious onion rings atop. The bun was lovely, not too bready but didn't get soggy. The French fries were those natural cut type, thin and salty. Yum yum! Also got the burger with blue cheese which was also great and they have GF buns! Gotta a couple of lemonade cocktails to complete a perfect early dinner!
I kept reading that this place had the best burger in Portland so I had to check it out. I don’t agree with that statement; although I will say that it is definitely a good burger and the meat had this really great flavor, it was just nothing special tbh. The fries were soggy and greasy, which I am not a fan of as well. On the more positive side, the vibe of the bar is dark and they play older metal like Iron Maiden and such, which I absolutely loved and the bartender was great.
One of my favorite bars. The food is always excellent, as well as the drinks. A plus, for me anyway, is that they'll pour you pints of Old Rasputin. A lot of places will only give you a 10oz. and charge the same. They also have a great jukebox and the service is always spot on.
Great service tasty drinks and food. Great spot to pregame for a Blazer's game or just kick it all night..!
What a great little bar. Great food and drinks and a friendly staff. My son took me here after flying in, and I would recommend it as your first stop for food and drinks.
Found this place after having a bad experience at a previous bar. So happy we did! This place had great dive bar vibe and food that looked great. There was only one server/bar tender, taking care of the bar and the tables she was phenomenal. Drinks were great and the food was phenomenal. I got the pastrami. The meat was cooked to perfection and the slaw that it comes with pairs perfectly. The vibe was great for a Thursday night. Thank you Slow Bar, we’ll be coming back!
My friend arrived in Portland on a midnight flight. This place was a vision for yummy late night happy hour. Drinks were delicious. Food was outstanding. I had the burger which was perfectly seasoned and cooked @ $6 happy hour price.... I couldn't believe it. Best burger I've had in a long time.
Great late night place to eat!! The Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich is super tasty, the food ratio is on point. The chicken is cooked perfectly with a charbroil taste. Fresh cut fries that aren’t too salty. The Slowburger is huge and hits the spot. I got it with everything on the side. And cooked medium rare because I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish it all and it reheated perfectly this way. The food to-go tasted just as good. Smaller menu but didn’t seem to be an issue! Great location and easy to get to from the convention center downtown.
