About

A monthly sports & Americana collectibles auction, like eBay but buyers pay the fees instead of sellers, who also benefit from free grading w/ PSA & BGS

Story

As of January, 2015, here is the full list of services we offer for participation in our free auctions:

1. Consign at a 0% Sellers Fee to Our Monthly Auctions

Our hallmark service, list your treasured collectibles in our monthly auctions for no sellers fee whatsoever. That's right! Our consignors keep 100% of the final bids generated by their items. A full calendar for 2015, which will see our fourth year of auction operations, will allow plenty of time to take advantage of both our popular Cost-Free Grading program and our unbeatable Collection Management Service described below, so please call 303.832.1975 or write [email protected] if you'd like to get the ball rolling and breathe some new life and excitement into your old collections.

2. List for Free in Our Small Traditions Web Store

Open round the clock, we welcome you to a completely reimagined and reinvented Small Traditions Store, where consignors can now list their best items for free, long before we later "flip" them to our auction. Once listed in our store, we will further promote these items in complimentary Buy-It-Now eBay listings under our 15-year-old Highest Rated Seller Account so that the whole world will know about your consigned items by the time they head to auction. We also invite you to consider the STs Store as a free, online home for treasured items from your personal collection. All we require are high-resolution images along with prices that YOU set. Items remain in your possession, and should a sale occur, our fee is a modest 10%.

3. Grade 10 to 100 Cards with PSA & BGS at No Cost

Certified third-party grading is an expensive and delicate process that typically adds multiple factors of value to properly handled and selected cards. In the grading process, experienced professionals scrutinize every square millimeter of both surfaces of a card. A pixel-sized print dot can lower a card's final grade a full level, and the tiniest imaginable nicks and scratches from handling can impact a grade even more. Use your discretion to select 10 to 100 of your best "raw" or ungraded cards to submit to Small Traditions, and we'll use our expertise to further screen and prepare them for grading with PSA, SGC, or BGS, the hobby's leading third-party certification companies. We'll consult before and after the grading process to discuss your expectations and to ensure not just your satisfaction with the process but also your understanding of its many challenges. After initial consultation, we'll then do the delicate and important work of sorting and preparing your cards for grading. We'll pay to ship them off, we'll pay the grading fees, we'll pay to ship them back, and we'll pay to auction them. We will pay for all charges up front and then deduct ONLY your grading fees after the completed auction(s) of your item(s). You keep 100% of the final bid(s), and we charge our bidders a flat participation fee, from which we derive our revenue.

4. Grade & Auction Your Entire Collection for as Little as 10-20%

Our Collection Management Service is a consultation and asset liquidation program aimed at maximizing the sales value of larger groups of cards and collectibles. Whether your collection consists of 200 signed photos or 200,000 old cards, instead of selling it in one block for far less than its potential market value -- sometimes far less, as most dealers will usually pay 60% of book value for cash deals -- we'll organize your entire collection, identify the best candidates for grading, pay for and auction the graded cards, and then sell the leftovers in detailed groups. This extremely labor intensive process typically increases the values of the collections with which we work again by multiple factors. Instead of earning just $10,000 for your collection, we'll work hard to earn you $20,000 to $30,000, or more, all at a modest cost of 10-20%, depending on the size of the collection. Working for a flat fee, we will help to sell your cards for as much potential profit as possible, so as to increase our small margin in the true market value of your collection once processed professionally and intelligently. There is no better deal in the hobby, period. Isn't it time you returned to Small Traditions?
