Smart Barber

Wanted a simple fade and it took about an hour. While the mother in law serviced three clients and did amazing job with theirs. Mine took an hour and still didn’t cut well. Mother in law had to come and salvage what was left. They seem very good but only use the mother in law and father in law.

Probably the best barbershop on UES! I’m a client for many years and service is above and beyond, even thought I’m very picky about my hair. And the best thing about it this is a family business. So, yes, support local!

I have had a nice hair cut, I really appreciated the fact it is a family business with employees devoted to make great work and make clients happy when they leave the shop.

When I lived very close by to Smart Barber , I thought I’d give it a try because it looks like a really nice place. Everything looks new, there’s exposed brick, it’s really nicely done. When I actually got my hair cut, it was incredible. Eli’s whole family gives great cuts so if you walk in, you’ll leave with a great haircut, but I prefer Eli when I have time to schedule an appointment. I would definitely recommend.

The best barbershop in all of NYC. I’ve been going to Eli, the owner, since 2011 - almost 10 years! I followed him from his humble roots at the shop he worked at in the east village, up to this new shop he’s opened in the UES. I cannot recommend him and his talented crew highly enough. Even though I’ve moved all over the country, I still haven’t found a barber as talented as these guys. They especially know how to cut my thick, finicky Asian hair and make it high and tight. No bells and whistles - just high-quality, friendly, attentive service. These guys care deeply about their craft, it is very relaxing to get a cut here. They are prompt, easy to book online, pricing is great, and they’ve taken great measures during COVID to make sure that customers are comfortable and safe. There are barriers between each chair, everything is clean and sanitized, and the barbers are always wearing their masks. This is the epitome of your friendly, neighborhood barbershop. If you haven’t yet, give these guys a try you won’t be disappointed.

I decided to go here on a whim and was not disappointed! Even though it was his first time cutting my hair, Eli did a fantastic job. Everyone in the area should definitely check this place out!! His pricing is competitive and customer service was top notch. I never write reviews online but I'm hoping that by doing this I can get Smart Barber more business - I hope they're around for a long time.
