I have had the pleasure to have spent the past 3 months working with the Smart Sitting team and the experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. I am so grateful to have Smart Sitting as my agency. They connect their Nannies with families that are the right fit for them and at a high pay with great benefits. If you are a nanny in NYC, you deserve to be in an agency that put their Nannies first and is there for you through your employment process. They are super responsive as well as supportive and joining their agency is one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving to the city. Janine is especially exceptional at her job and has been the biggest help with her career guidance.

I have worked as a nanny in New York City since 2018 but it wasn't until I joined the SmartSitting network last year that I felt truly secure in my role. The agency does an excellent job helping their childcare professionals earn fair wages and benefits, and continues to offer assistance after they are paired with a family. I’ve had a terrible experience with this agency. I was hired as a full time nanny with smart sitting for almost a year. I was working with a very difficult family in New Jersey. I tried my best to make it work until I could no longer do it. This family has put my health in danger way too many times for me to give them another day of my employment. They wanted me to work around highly contagious viruses even when I told them I wasn’t comfortable with it. COVID , RSV etc I got in touch with Smart Sitting immediately and voiced my concerns. I told them I could no longer work with this family and they pretended to understand and asked me to send a resignation letter. I did. Shortly after .. they told me because the family couldn’t give me a nice review because they were upset about my leaving that I could no longer work for the agency. However , they IMMEDIATELY put up a job post to find another nanny for the family and even terribly added that the new nanny must be comfortable working with RSV and COVID even though these two viruses are extremely threatening to work under. In conclusion, I have never felt so unprotected working under an agency in my life. It’s easily recognizable that that are for the families and not the nanny’s even though we are technically the ones bringing the business. I reached out last week to see if there was an update about my employment and they didn’t even have the decency to respond. It’s disgusting. So yeah, save yourself the trouble and go solo or choose another agency. You can also see the post for yourself on their website. I feel saddened for the next nanny.

I worked as a sitter in the past for this company for a few years. In my experience the recruiters will find you work, but there is no room for growth with this company. Higher paying positions are often restricted to racial minorities. If you're looking for a quick gig, you may be just fine. If you are seeking an employer who practices both diversity and inclusion; you should definitely look elsewhere. I'm sure that this has happened others. Someone should definitely report them for their unethical business practices.

I have had an amazing time working with SmartSitting as a Nanny. They helped me find my job quickly and have set me up with an incredible family. They've continued to give me communication and support throughout my employment, and the staff is incredibly kind and thorough! I feel so much more at ease as a Nanny having them on my team. Having their help with the intricacies of the job tax help, wages, communication with the family, etc. makes a huge difference. I love Smart Sitting!

I've been a Smart Sitter for going on over a year now and can only say positive things about my experience. As a new-to-NYC nanny, coming in with 4 years of experience, I researched a lot of agencies before choosing SmartSitting. I'm very glad I did. The staff members have consistently been very kind, responsive, and professional. We know each other by name, and I have always felt that I have their support. They were patient and communicative with me as I searched for the perfect family fit for my needs, regularly sending me jobs and asking me questions to narrow the field because they always have lots of jobs!. I've been with my current family for over a year now, and we're very happy and silly together - even as we navigate this pandemic. The sweet staff at SmartSitting still occasionally reaches out to make sure I'm still feeling good and enjoying my job. Nice. I highly recommend SmartSitting for anyone who is serious about their work as a caretaker.
