Smoke House

We stumbled upon this place while exploring Newport and loved everything about it. We started with the clam chowder and smoked chicken wings! Our kids enjoyed their kids meals and they loved that the crayons were Crayola! My wife and I had sandwiches without the bread and a side salad because we are watching carbs. They were more than accommodating. The service was great. The atmosphere was super chill. The food was excellent. Kid-friendliness: The crayons and kids activity pages were great for our kids. They loved their food and the ice cream sandwich. Our server treated the kids as valued members of our party. Dietary restrictions: We are eating low carb and other than the pre-sauced pork they were able to customize our order to fit our needs.

Great BBQ joint! I’ve had BBQ from a couple other places on the island and this one is my favorite. The drinks are unbelievably good and the apps are really unique for BBQ. I was disappointed they sold out of the brisket by the time I ordered I was told I needed to get there for lunch or supper I wanted the brisket. This place is in a great location near the water and they’ve got a nice bar and comfortable seating area for larger groups. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating. We had at least four people stop and check in on us throughout the night to make sure we were taken care of. If you’re into great drinks and BBQ, you will love this Smoke House!

It’s alright. The staff were lovely and the service was quick. We ordered a lobster roll and a bbq meat platter - both were $36. The wings were too dry and over-fried to the point where you couldn’t eat them. I’d suggest you avoid those. The lobster roll, albeit being higher in price than the places around it, was really nice.

I had a great time with my family. We got the Pulled Pork Nachos for Appetizer, and I got the Baby Back Ribs. Delicious food, great customer services and beautiful place. Highly recommended.

This place was Amazing! The absolute best burger I have ever had! Fries were crispy and salty. Kyla and Dom were also great bartenders serving it up! We ordered I believe the smoke stack burger. Your taste buds will thank you even after you eat it.

Food was great, service was excellent. I loved that they gave extra napkins and left the pitcher of water with us. I only give 4/5 because my girlfriend felt that the ribs were just “alright” and I felt the same way about the burger I got. The fries and Cesar salad were excellent though. Oh and the wings were some of the best I’ve ever had.

Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich. Tasted pretty good and was filling. The chicken texture was similar to a breaded chicken cutlet and the hot sauce they used tasted similar to tobasco. Saturday nights in Newport are very lively. If you want to be in the middle of everything on a weeknight night I’d recommend.

Absolutely dismal lunch. Ordered the smoked shrimp which arrived cold and stank so bad! I did try to peel two of these horribly fishy-smelling shrimps but failed as the shell was stuck on the flesh. They weren't deveined and featured very big prominent lines of black intestinal track. I told them to take it away. The corn was literally canned corn with melted cheese and nachos. I ate it as I was starving. There was also an order of clam chowder which I was told tasted like stodgy Campbell's. Perhaps do not order anything that isn't meat here.

It was a busy Saturday night in Newport and I was a bit worried that this restaurant wouldn’t work for our family, because it had a loud crowded bar in front near the street, but luckily there are some quiet tables in the back. It has a roof so it’s not too sunny and ceiling fans kept the air moving and cool. My husband and I enjoyed the mojito cocktail and my son loved the fun water cup. He had Mac and cheese not from the kids menu which did have paprika in it so probably not all kids would like it but he did. My husband had the vegetarian nachos and he really enjoyed those but fair warning the portion is huge. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and it was relaxing. We would definitely come back next time we visit Newport.

Gave a 5 star because they are better than a 4.3 current rating the atmosphere is great, bathrooms are clean. It’s in a parking lot but the decore is open and bright. The service was fantastic, filled the water glasses a few times in a hot sunny day. It’s kid friendly, however busy, which is understandable by the food quality. The BBQ is sweet and tangy but I did not ask about just smoked meat. The ribs were meaty and well cooked but did not “fall off the bone”. Hard to find a negative but a sold beer selection, great food and great service deserves a high rating. Try the cornbread, it’s amazing.
