The food here is fantastic whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner you are after. For brunch the brisket Benedict with smoked hollandaise is must. The deviled eggs with hotlink are perfection. If you've got an appetite I recommend the pitmaster. Their collards are some of the best in town. The shells and cheese paired with the toasted cornbread crumbles adds a caramel flavor to a usually fully savory dish.
I had the ribs and fries. The ribs aren't the tender, fall-off-the-bone style. That's not good or bad--just the type. They are delicious. The fries have a crispety crunchy coating that I love. The place has a great interior, and the service is friendly.
Amazing smokehouse! They have a great offering of smoked everything. Plus they have happy hour until 5:00 PM every day- ALL DAY happy hour MONDAY! AMAZING smoked pulled pork sandwich, and their happy burger is 2 large burger patties, double decker! Free parking lot.
We ordered the dinner for two three meats and 3 sides with deviled eggs The brisket and chicken were delicious. The Mac and cheese was bland needed some salt. It came with 2 ribs and one was the end piece which was very dry and tough. The worst thing was the corn bread. As a side option for a dinner for two it was one small muffin. I wouldn't have been as disappointed by that but the cornbread was hard and way too dense. I could tap my fork on it and it made a knocking sound. There was no bacon or maple flavor and the butter had no honey, it was just whipped. Also for a restaurant that is only doing pick up and delivery they don't separate the hot and cold items. The deviled eggs were between the meat and the Mac and cheese and had basically melted all the deviled yolk. I've eaten here in the past and enjoyed it a lot. I wish they put the same effort into their carry out .
Really good pork cheeks and burnt ends! Snotty waitress! Sorry to have patronized your business, geesh!
Best wings so far on a wing-week crawl. Big flavor! Not as hot as advertised, don't worry.
Food was pretty excellent, and going during happy hour allowed us to take advantage of some nice specials, including some unique starters. However, when it came to the main course, the serving of pork was a little light, as compared to the brisket. Biggest complaint was that the menu has sweet tea on it, but they don't actually have sweet tea - they have unsweetened iced tea that they'll add sweetener to after the fact. Not the same thing, and kind of a big deal if you're trying to be a real BBQ place. Overall, though, I like the blend of traditional BBQ with a modern, hipster twist.
Fantastic barbecue and a full bar. We had delicious pulled pork, scrumptious ribs, and tasty brisket. The poutine was amazing too. The fries were crispy and tasty, the coleslaw was very good as well. Everything was well prepared and the server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Wonderful meals.
We got the 4 meat/4 side family meal. Everything was delicious, but the smoked salmon was like nothing I've ever had before. You know when food is so good you just can't talk for a moment? As each of us tried the salmon that's how it was, mid-sentence, "wow, this salmon!" Anyway, it's great. We got pp, brisket, salmon and ribs. Sides: green, beans, cole slaw and mac salad. I detected a bit of the polish restaurant in some of the sides-- the beans aren't the sickly sweet American version, they were all more on the vinegar side, which I like. BBQ sauce was smoky and super flavorful.
Some of the best BBQ in Portland. They offer a mix of BBQ styles and sauces. We LOVE the burnt ends but you have to get there early as they always sell out. The pork cheeks are insanely good and very tender. Their sides are delicious. And they have typical Portland funky decor. This is our "go to" place for BBQ in Portland.
