Smokey D's BBQ

I was driving by and noticed this BBQ restaurant with great reviews so I decided to give it a try. Pulling up I noticed a lot of cars which was a good sign of things to come! Great prices, pretty quick and friendly service. Ordered a Burnt Ends and Beef brisket sandwich with a side of fried pickles. YUMMY!

Pretty amazing place. Ribs are fantastic! Had the brisket, over cooked in my opinion. Hubby had pulled chicken, kinda flavorless. BBQ eggrolls were good. Had beans & potato casserole for very good!

This restaurant needs more than 5 stars. I stopped by for curbside pickup and am so happy I did. The brisket was tender and the burnt ends were delicious and seemed to melt in my mouth! The chips and dip were fabulous. I have found my favorite BBQ restaurant at last!! Can't wait to take my entire family here!!!

Good flavor but the meats were greasy and wings a bit dry. The mac n cheese was creamy and tater casserole a little odd seasoned but tasted ok. Both men's and women's restrooms clean. Super busy place with plenty of staff who worked every second. Limited parking and not for larger vehicles. Pictured is Brisket and chopped pork with Mac n cheese and potato casserole along with Ribs and wings appetizer. The Texas toast was really good.

Hands down pretty good place to have some BBQ. It was my first time their. Everyone was nice. All around great staffing and atmosphere I don’t live down here.

First thing you notice coming in - parking lot is packed, inside is packed. Next thing you notice is all the awards lining the walls for best BBQ around. After trying what they have to offer, I have to concur that it checks out. Meats were done perfectly, and the BBQ nachos are a unique and amazing oddity.

Just what you're looking for for classic BBQ! The staff is friendly and they keep the tables spotless between customers. I had the brisket and chopped pork, and it was great. I also loved the potato salad. Great job!Food: 5/5

Super friendly staff, easy process to order. Food was out under 10 minutes! And of course food was awesome! Will definitely return. Only complaint, move sauces behind counter....people come by, use them, touch them, and put them back.

There was a line of about 30 people when we arrived around noon on a Saturday, but the line moved fairly quickly. The lunch platter $12.95 includes one meat and two sides and a piece of garlic toast. I selected burnt ends, potato casserole, and jalapeño corn. Our food was delivered to our booth in about 5-10 minutes after ordering. The food is served in a rectangular plastic basket lined with wax paper, and the sides are served in Styrofoam cups . A metal fork is provided, and hot and mild bbq sauce and other condiments are available near the drink station. The meat portions seemed small about 8 half-inch squares of meat for the burnt ends portion but had a good taste. The sides were adequate but not exceptional. There seemed to be plenty of seating even on a busy weekend day, with both wooden booths and tables. Decor consists of framed bbq competition posters and old photos, and there is an impressive display of bbq contest trophies in a case near the restrooms. Kid-friendliness: A kids menu is available, and I saw plenty of kids dining in on a Saturday. Parking: There are parking lots in front of and behind the restaurant building.

This barbecue is second and on Des Moines. The environment here is what you expect from a barbecue place, lots of wood great smells and really friendly service. Right next to the Harley Davidson shop so you can go look at some cool bikes after you’re done eating your food.
