It took 11 months to get everything installed. My system was installed back on Dec 5th and it took 3 months to get the system up and running. The rep did not submit the paper work and likely would not have if I didn’t call and email them repeatedly for several weeks. I’ve now paid two loan payments and they are refusing to at the very least reimburse me. I will not be referring anyone and will make sure no one else makes the same mistake I did. I was looking forward to purchasing a model 3 but no longer considering it as I don’t want to deal with the hassle. Congrats on edging out Comcast as the worst customer service experience.
I've had solar city for a year and a half now and would not recommend it to anyone unless they didn't have any other choices. Once your panels are up and your lease is signed solar city no longer cares about the performance of your panels. They generate income whether or not your panels perform as promised so things like maintenance and cleaning are not a priority for them.
I signed a contract with Solar City, 2013. Contract says that I will get paid if the panels do not produce the energy the contract specifies. I have been ignored by this company as the amount owed to me is over $2000.00. They are now ignoring my complaints and when I call customer service, am told they will get back to me. This has been going on for several months. This Company has broken their contract and refuses to live up to their contractual obligation.
Poor Customer Service. I was looking forward to get Tesla/SolarCity panels on my home in Tucson, AZ. I signed all the forms I needed to sign on 9/11. About 2-3 weeks had passed and I called Tesla to figure out what the status of the project was. They told me that they never received the interconnection form. Typically not a big deal but TEP Tucson Power Company changed their net metering policy, you know screwing over the customer. I told them that i signed the form before the new policy took affect and i expected them to honor it. Customer Service told me that I had the option to sign the new TEP form or not get solar. When i signed the from i C/C my sales rep., who is a Tesla employee. Long story short, not going with Tesla and I will evaluate the solar idea in 2019.
Terrible customer service. In competent representatives. Solar system went down in June was completely down for six weeks SolarCity/Tesla never monitored my system or notified me, SRP did. Tesla wrote it off as my fault and six months later I am still dealing with them and my system has not worked properly. Ive had to pay SRP since July for electicity. Steer clear of Tesla. Actually run from them, as a customer and consumer I tell you run ftom them and do not deal with them if you haven't yet.
Had the worst customer service over the phone. I simply tried to ask a couple questions about solar panels, and it was like she had no idea what I was talking about. She had to put me on hold to find out whether she had something bigger than a 100 watt panel, and then didn't even answer my question, and THEN had to put me back on hold? I really did expect much much more from SolarCity, and I can not believe they do not allow simple curiosity to be encouraged. It was more of a "Are you gonna buy something or not?" attitude. Thanks for the gas station level of service...
The rep said he could save us quite a lot per month on our electric bill by setting up a lease for their solar system. After wasting an hour & half with him, not being able to load up his website, he called 45 minutes later and said our average monthly bill would be $172. My wife uses Quickbooks, so she looked at our electric bill, and it averages out to be $169 per month! WOW! WHAT A GREAT SAVINGS!!! This company will get all the government incentives, the monthly rebates for our power co., and we will pay them for the usage each month. They will make out like a bandit, and will have their panels on our house, and we pay about $36 more per year to allow it!!! I have posted my experience on my social pages, just as I have stated here. Hopefully nobody else falls for what I think is a scam!
They will not give you a quote until you let them run your credit even thou they are told not to. I did not want to qualify for their stupid lease I wanted a quote to purchase all they tell is we can do that till we run your credit all i see on "all I see are red lights on my screen " Bull I say "Don't Lease your leasing solar which they claim cost up to 70,000.00 ". It should only cost you 25,000.00 everything included in any area plus you get 30% tax credit.
February will make 1 year we've had the Solar. Customer Service was great! Helpful, great attitude Reagan was fantastic answered all questions and more even later on when I had more questions. Believe some of the issues we ran into was the City of Glendale and their 'rules/regulations etc. probably had couple small misunderstandings in beginning about the savings but once I started learning more and talking to Reagan our Rep. and SRP started understanding more which would have helped in the beginning a see would have added a few more panels. All in all we have experienced quite a bit if savings especially in the summer with air conditioning. Even adding our monthly $66 Solar lease to our regular SRP bill were saving a good bit High summer bill before maybe $245 -with the Solar was maybe a total of $140. Where one major problem is with SRPand their rate Structure which they are in court over. There was no real minimum monthly Fee with SRP For having Solar. If you used say $10 - $12 worth SRP electricity that's what you Pd besides your monthly lease with Solar City. Then SRP changed the deal making a flat minimum $20 rate on top of whatever electric amount from SRP on top of Solar City lease. Not Solar City problem . They took SRP to court and are fighting that. We are very happy with our Solar. It just takes some learning and understanding the 2 meters and off grid and on grid. Highly recommend it. We even got our daughter in Phoenix SRP area on Solar. They're also happy with it. Solar- the way of the future!
They come across as great at first but after working with ten other companies for quotes, in the end it was the least professional person/company to work for. Their quote system is un-detailed and slow. Thomas Pham was highly unprofessional in the end once he found out I received other quotes... this is a big investment so of course I'd do that. Also, the quality of their solar panels are a joke. Go with a local company or Sunrun if you want a better experience and a much higher performing system. Their quote was a print screen with no detail and came 4 days later while most companies reply within a couple days. A joke - stay away.
