Solid Rock Seventh-Day Adventist Church

This is a great church the emphasizes the importance of following the Bible in our daily lives and reaching out to those around use to share the love of God with them. They regularly do community outreach and assist in local homeless shelters and nursing homes, while also emphasizing the importance of community within the church by holding frequent social events and meals together after every service. There are programs for children as well. This is a loving and accepting group and Pastor Vinnie's leadership emphasizes the relevance of Biblical ethic in our world today. The worship style is upbeat with mostly praise music that has a gospel slant to it. I would recommend this church to anyone.

Best and spirit-filled church in the DMV area. My family loves this church. Always have a wonderful time. Great Diversity. Congregation is so warm and welcoming, and they are involved with the community as well. The Music Director/Pianist is phenomenal and blesses the church spiritually uplifting music. Great vegetarian food. The Pastor is also very dynamic – can’t fall sleep during his sermons plus messages are always timely. Great children’s programs including Pathfinders & Adventurers. Best place to be every Sabbath!

I’ve taken my four year old twins twice now to Solid Rock and we plan to become part of this church community. Everyone is warm and welcoming, the worship music is heartfelt and moving, and Pastor Vinnie’s sermons have really resonated for me, filled with powerful focus on God’s grace and love.

It is a small church. The preacher wasn't exactly my style. I was greeted warmly and invited to potluck. As a visitor, it didn't exactly convince me I should come back. But it might be just perfect for someone else.

Very welcoming church - and the uplifting music/worship is filled with both traditional Christian hymns, Southern Gospel and and familiar worship songs. Also, after every service - there is a vegetarian potluck that all visitors are welcomed, and where the other members can sit down, and get to share their week's events with each other. Tina - Pastor's wife, and Pastor Vinnie MacIsaac are both a very warm and engaging couple ( I think his last name translates to something like "son of laughter") ! Their mission statement is something - like - Solid Rock wants to be a house of prayer and healing - and I feel that this church really lives up to that mission. During this past summer, I went to their church camp - somewhere away from the city - and it was so much fun in the cabins, with campfire marshmellows, and hiking all over everywhere - but I stayed safely put in the cabins and helped peel potatoes!! (lol). Being a part of this church is not only about fun of course, but also for fellowship and for strength for the week...this Solid Rock church does that for me. Thank you for reading.
