Just did my first class at solidcore with Christina K who subbed another instructor and I love it. I’ve been doing reformer Pilates for more than 16 years so this was an interesting modification of what I’m used to. The pace was slightly different and their unique reformer “sweatlana” was so diverse . Can’t wait to go back.
I want to like Solidcore because it does give me a great workout, but I can’t understand anything the trainers are saying during the entire class at this West End location. The microphone they’re using is not good, and the music is too loud to hear a bad microphone over. I’m quite sure I’m not the only one who feels this way because I’ve taken three classes at this location, all with different instructors, and the whole class is out of sync and confused what’s happening next the whole time. I am convinced the microphone and/or whole sound system is an issue. I am curious if this problem exists at other Solidcore locations. I’ve never been anywhere else, but after this experience, I’m not sure I’d waste my time. I used to love traditional reformer pilates but can’t find a good, convenient, affordable location near me, so I’ve resorted to this.
The Pilates class is great its self but wouldn't recommend solid core because you can never get a hold of anyone on the phone and when you try to cancel your membership due to health reasons and or anything else they need a thorough explanation for reasoning for why you want to cancel rather than just being able to cancel it. This company makes it very very very very very difficult for you to cancel your membership and that's the main reason I wouldn't recommend, everything else workout wise 10/10
Very grateful for this team as they bring a lot of positivity and motivation to my day. I’ve been going to the studio for the past year and it’s been a wonderful experience. Highly recommend giving it a try, if you’re looking for a very difficult and rewarding reformer Pilates / strength workout.
Greatest workout ever. I am 57 have been regularly attending for over a year. Positive experience. Everyone is welcome. Coaches are not only experienced in the program but also in motivation and inclusion. Big shout out to Coach Sydney for her drive and presence. Such a force to learn from. Community Manager and Coach Christine is so welcoming and positive. This is truly the place to become your best self. No B. S. Great Community great work out. Every class is opportunity to be better version of one's self.
Solidcore is one of the best workout classes out there. Every time I go my obliques and abs are sore for days to the point where I don't want to get out of bed for work. The instructors here are a mixture of motivating/hilarious and make the workout feel like a team effort until the last rep. This particular studio is slightly smaller than others, but it doesn't take away from the intensity of the workout.
Why I came: I usually workout 4xweek. Three times weight training and sometimes two days cardio. I'm on vacation for conference and wanted to stay active and this was a nearby studio. I'm not from here so it doesn't exist where I'm from and it sounded different and cool and their website looks dope. So I tried it out. I didn't attend a beginner class, I just jumped in the regular. And I think it's doable. All I could say is, everything happened what my teacher told me what was going to happen. I was definitely confused but that's ok since you just look around and copy others and you gotta get use to the lingo, I was definitely dead by the end, in a good way. So even with all my "working out" back at home, I was definitely slaughtered in class and I loved every moment. My muscles were burning and it was good. It makes my workouts back at home a joke. I was excited to be there and so curious what it's like. I've never done Pilates before or used the reformer machine but I think it's sorta the same but more intense and more heavier resistance/weights are used. I should go try a Pilates reformer class and see how that is. I got great customer service. The teacher texted me the night before welcoming me and told me to show up early so she could go over the machine with me. And that happened, I showed up early and right before class she quickly explained the machine. Of course it went thru my head as there’s tons of info happening music, talking, movement you just gotta embrace it, and jump right in and follow along. My experience. The facility is hip, cool and blasting music the whole time. It is clean as the machines are wiped down by the previous class. There's limited number of machines to its a small class and it's good to reserve ahead of time,The lights are also dim the whole time. I love the vibe. The teacher, Katie, was energetic and kept us going through out. I think it's in their program that they speak the entire time during class. Which, yes is good but also, darn it I can't hear the music when I gotta keep listening. Maybe if I lived here and I kept doing it then I get the flow and can zone out and multi listen. The music was pumping! Before class Katie explained the machine to me, but you just go with the flow, watch others and give it all a try and try your best. Thanks, I love this studio, I wish it were in my hometown. I'd definitely come again, maybe not tomorrow since I was in class today but I know I would get an effective workout and not be wasting hours at a gym. I can totally see how I would get shredded if I came here on the regular. Conclusion: highly recommended. Good way to challenge yourself, but women and men. Good for beginners as the teacher gives you individualized attention and can help adjust your resistance. Good place if you want a challenge and have an effective workout.
1st time going to West End. The studio is quaint with some great light that shines through the front window. Led by coach Jess, solid class, solid core, always a great workout.
I took three different classes each time with a different instructor and they were all disappointing. Classes were poorly structured and I didn't feel I got a good workout worth the cost. Go to FlyWheel instead if you want classes led by high quality instructors. You won't break a sweat at solidcore.
The customer service was not good. I came in confused and didn’t know you had to register for a class online to reserve a seat. I had to ask the solidcore members for that information. The trainer rushed me after I waited an hour to catch the next class and failed to provide me with that details about registration. I expected better customer service for the price of the class. Customer service training might be helpful to retain customers.
