They have a good assortment of Italian groceries and their salads, antipasto and prepared foods like arancini are delicious. They have a large menu of sandwiches you can’t really go wrong with. I’m giving it 4 stars however because their prepared pasta dishes are lackluster which is unfortunate considering how good everything else is here. The meatballs are always really dense and not the most flavorful and the pasta sauces are a bit flat so I would definitely skip those. Everything else is definitely worth trying!
Lovely people and products. You don’t find places as good as this very often, so definitely make sure you take advantage if you live near by. Marinara sauce, mozzarella, fried eggplant I had today were top notch!
Old school Italian provisions. Sausage, meats, cheese, oil, balsamic. You know what I'm talking about. NYC market at it's finest.
Sorriso's.....what can I say...for an Italian Deli this place is the cat's meow. Huge selection of sandwiches to chose from on their menu boards. Specialty meats fully prepped for your BBQ needs as well as pasta dishes and cold salads. This place will not disappoint. P.S. they cater too.
Having to cat sit nearby for a friend, I finally got the opportunity to go to the lesser known area of Astoria past Steinway. Sorrisos was my first stop when I was hungry! Absolutely incredible place. Everyone in Astoria should go!
This is a friendly, old school, cash only, Italian market. They sell meats, sandwiches, canned goods and cooked food behind the glass. The sandwiches are very good.
Old school NYC italian deli that I am so glad is in this neighborhood. Delicious sandwiches. Also premade italian specialties from meatballs to antipasto. Also great sausages and marinated meats. The owner is known for his homemade soppressata with varying ingredients. They are also very friendly. This is the spot.
Fantastic. The supreme products they carry only match the type of service you’ll receive here. Wonderful goods and potentially the last gentleman’s left in NYC. Keep up the good work! Will definitely be back
I was craving a sandwich and I stopped by this place. It's a typical Italian pork store. I believe their biggest customers come for sandwiches. Very old-school feel . You generally have to walk up to the glass counter and say how you doin! lol I'll have a insertsandwich. The godfather sandwich is good but for $14 the sandwich shop sal chris and charlie has them beat in terms of quantity. Their sandwich can't be consumed in 1 sitting. You eat that in 2 days
It’s refreshing to see a meat shop that takes great pride in the products they serve. Their meats and cheese are always fresh, and offer the best in prime cuts and quality. I’ve been here on multiple occasions, buying items to cook fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, chicken Marsala, penne alla vodka, or just assembling a meat and cheese platter for guests. Their customer service is the best. The employees will go out of their way to make sure your experience and products are the best. They’ve always offered me free samples of various cured meats and cheeses while I’m there, definitely widening my palate for the foods they offer. The difference that is made when purchasing fresh products from a butcher shop and a super market is pretty crazy. If I compare two of the same dishes, one made with Sorriso products and the other with supermarket products, hands down Sorriso will always win. Definitely give this place a try. Very much worth it for the price and quality.
