So I've read all the reviews and I find that the negative comments have no clue what this place is about. I've traveled to Korea and went through Soul tasting all different types of soups and cuisines. As a personal chef to a Korean family I have brought back numerous recipes and falvors that are prominent in Korea. This place was an accidental find which was fantastic. From the side dishes to main dish it was perfect. There are people who know Korean food and then there are those who think they know. This is as authentic and flavorful as any Korean restaurants in Korea.
This was the second time we came here but the first time we got the Galbi Jjim, we added the cheese and it was AWESOME. The soups they have were also great but for sure you have to try the Galbi Jjim at least once. The broth soup is light but flavorful -- ideal if you're not too hungry. But if you're feeling hungry and have at least 2-3 you need to get the Galbi Jjim. The meat was super tender and flavorful, the sauce goes great with the rice. It also comes with the steamed egg -- it was just the two of us but we had enough leftovers for the next two meals. I feel if I come here during the winter I would order the soups but in the Summer I'd definitely gather a group of friends to try Jjim -- we did not get the rib + ox tail and we got the spicy one -- which is not too hot but has a sweetness to it. Definitely need to try you would not be disappointed!
Yummy food. Banchan is little too salty. Quick and nice service, but no services for my little kid, except providing a high chair for us. Cleanliness is very good.
When it says Soup, it literally means soup. The beef rib soup is soup, ribs, and a little bit of rice noodle, and a bowl ofcrice for a whopping $15. That's the cheapest soup they have. Althought the soup is good, the ribs are tough. The other choice is the beef bone soup and it has no beef flavor. Table next to me was also pouring heavy seasoning into his soup which is what's meant to happen but it still wasn't very good. For $15 bowl of soup it is not a meal. The nuclear option is to get the big beef bowl which is about $40 to $57 each. Strategy: share a big bowl and also a soup for 2 people. Expect to pay $70 without drinks. Conclusion: not a lot of choice and not a good value. I left the restaurant hungry after a $45 tab.
The appetizers are different each time I came I think, which is so great! Especially the fish cake and kimchi. The no.8 rice cake rib soup is the best that I like. The soup is tasty and beef rib is soft but also chewy. Love the clear noodles inside too. Recently tried their sweet rib stew, which is good too. Good for lunch with co-workers and dinner with families. If go for lunch, make sure to arrive early because this place is quite popular.
Happy that we’re starting to pick up on specialty Korean restaurants. Parking is insane in this plaza, so make sure to keep that in mind when factoring time. And the line is long. But thankfully the service is extremely fast here and they’re quick to bring you your food. Galbitang was great with decent portions, didn’t even need to add more salt!
Service : the staff here are really nice. They all speak fluent Korean and English so I didn't have any trouble ordering at all. They are also pretty knowledgeable on recommendations. We basically got what they recommended on the soup and it was amazing. Food : the beef pot is the signature dish for these places. It's really good and has potatoes, and rice cake along with really tender beef. We had the beef shoulder point soup and it was really good too! I would also recommend the beef ribs soup. For four people, the beef pot and one order of soup was pretty much enough for us with all the free side dishes! Wait times: it can get long especially on the weekends.
Authentic galbi tang beef short rib soup. I uploaded two photos, one before eating and one after finishing it. It's so yummy that I don't want to leave any soup. Some tips: their galbi tang is only $13 for the first month; it opens at 11 am and you will have to wait after 11:30 am even on weekdays.
The were pretty tasty at the beginning and I really enjoyed the food quite a lot! After first few weeks I still have been there several times...the taste obviously went down and no longer as good was ever. The soup tastes much more watery than it was at the first month!. I ever take all my colleagues from Taiwan to this restaurant but now I won't recommend it any more.
It just opened July 28th and has been packed. Get here early to enjoy some of the best Korean soul food and soup in the area. Experience was great, just expect a wait. And if you can, order the Galbi-Jjim as it's amazing for a dish. Fortunately got the last tray before it was sold out. Drop by for a visit and enjoy!
