We greatly regret ever taking our child to this office. Dr. V is always rushing. She barely every spends more than 2 minutes with you and anything you ask she says that's okay that's good. As a first time Mom you need someone who would guide you through and advice you on medical needs not just rush you through your questions. Besides the doctor their office and southwest medical is not the greatest place to go. I was in between jobs and didn't have an insurance at the time my little boy was due for his 2 months vaccine and I called their office to verify to make sure i wasn't going to be charged crazy amount and i also asked if it was absolutely necessary to get the vaccines when he was 2 months old vs. if i could wait one month to get the insurance first. The nurse called me back and said that i can't postpone and that it was going to cost only approximately $130.00 and we would have to have 100.00 down payment in the office and they would bill the rest. That's exactly what we did we paid 100.00 down payment and when i received the bill it was close to 400.00$. I tried calling their billing department and the billing department tells me that something is wrong. They had billed the same vaccine multiple times and that Dr. V is charging 250.00 she didn't even see the baby for more than 2 minutes and she is charging 250.00. The billing department agent told me the manager from Dr. V's office will call me back. I still haven't received any calls it's been over 4 months. Every single time i call this office nobody EVER answers the phone. This is so frustrating to deal with. They basically tried to rip me off by billing the same vaccine multiple times and the doctor charges crazy amounts and she never spends more than 2 minutes with your child. she is ALWAYS in a rush. I am going to remove my whole family from this organization because if they can't even handle one office location i wonder what other issues we will run into if it's something major. This is so unprofessional and there is no one who is trying to help. you call the main line they tell you to call billing department you call billing department they tell you the manager form the doctor's office will call you and you call the doctor's office and no one ever answers the phone. Very very disappointed. I would strongly suggest new mothers to stay away from southwest medical associates. you are better off without this big organization that can't control one office location. I rather go to a small doctor location. Very Very very annoying.
I went in today and had a great experience! The staff were super friendly and the facility was taking extra precautions to protect their patients and staff from coronavirus. I did have to wait a while, but that’s just how healthcare is in this country, get over it complainers! NP Cedric Ojeda was extremely professional and helpful. He answered all my questions without talking down to me like so many doctors do. He took his time, made sure I understood my treatment, and offered a referral without having to go back in for an appointment if I needed it. I will definitely go back if I ever need a convenient care again. Thanks to the great staff!
Only gave them two stars because i actually like the doctors ive had. No issues with them other then I feel super rushed whenever talking to them......but the receptionists are HORRIBLE!!! Rude and so uninformative. They will happily talk super loud with each other, as if everyone is trying to hear their conversations. Very unprofessional, yet when it comes to speaking with us, the patients, they seem bored and bothered by our presence. I waited a while to write this review as I dont like to judge people or places after only going a few times. But it seems like after my 8th time now its still the same. Only reason I stay is for the doctor. Other then that absolutely horrible customer service towards the patients!!!
Even with an appointment and arriving 15 minutes early I found two receptionists carrying on a personal conversation before they even acknowledged me AND WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE! They they laughingly 'fought' over who should have to help me. I was in severe pain but that did not seem to matter to them. They took my ID and Insurance info and I waited 40 MINUTES after my appt time - with NO ONE else in the office. When I asked the receptionist why the wait she said "there was only one doctor and he gets backed up!" The male nurse was great, fast careful and considerate and then another 15 minute wait for Dr Malone. The dr barely listened to me deciding that I had one issue when I CAREFULLY explained why I was there - for my hip. X-rays, NO, MRI, NO - he requested blood tests and urine test and was gone in less than5 minutes. Ended up in Emergency urgent care 3 nights later and THEY did x-rays and MRI! I should have known this 'office' was confused - outside it says Children and OB-GYN services!!!
My youngest Daughter, had a Dr here.. We've always recieved excellent service. Its also convient, because there's a lab on site. The waiting area, is always kept clean, as well as The restrooms. The staff, is caring and shows interest in their patience. The lab & staff is great, not too long of a wait time. Its located on W. Charleston, easy to see from the street. This building has been here for many years. It'd be great, if other SMA's could follow suit & be more sympathetic to patience needs. At any rate, I'd highly recommend this location.
The providers at this office are liars and have horrible service. ..I wouldn't even take a Dog to this office...I've never had my obgyn be so careless and unconcerned about my medical condition in my whole life ...I will never go to this office and I will definitely be switching back to PPO after my experience with these providers at this office on flamingo ..I've always heard horror stories about how they pass you around when they don't want to help...but now I've experienced it first hand. ..
The office and staff is acceptable. Having to use the call service is garbage. It took a week to even get someone to call me back about an appointment. Over a week for someone to answer a question about lab work. When someone actually goes wrong, just go to L&D because you won't get an answer before your child is born otherwise.
Waited so long I never even saw the doctor. I walked out. All for a confirmation of pregnancy that I already took 2 tests for. Then they can’t even draw blood?!! They can’t do any tests?? What’s the point of being there? Horrible never again
I saw the male nurse practitioner and he was very compassionate, knowledgable and really listened to me. He prescribed me another inhaler and told me to use it every day regardless of how I felt, now I hardly ever have to use my ventolin inhaler and I don't feel short of breath or exhausted anymore!
Had an appt at 11:15am. It’s now 11:45am and they said it’s going to be at least 15 more minute before we get called back, then who knows how long it’ll be. What’s the point of an appt if you’re not going to keep it? Yet I’m sure if we were 30 minutes late we wouldn’t be seen and it would be our fault!!
