Having a location in our hometown of Washington, D.C., we stopped by their OG location in Hampden on a Baltimore trip. My wife, four-year-old daughter and I stopped in for lunch on a Monday. Yes, they are open on Mondays when many other local restaurants aren't. Here's our experience: 1 Food: It's delicious! Order in-person or via their app. They sells fries, pitas, drinks, veggie balls, etc. My daughter enjoyed the zucchini balls and fries. My beef pita was tasty and comes with fries inside. I also ordered their orange soda and wow- among the best I've had. 2 Space: It's intentionally small to represent the small cafes found in Greece. The simple decorations on the walls transport you to the Mediterranean. 3 Service: The man behind the register was so friendly. Once we sat down, he brought over a free plate of fries for our four-year-old daughter. He then gave us all free cold water bottles. He came over to chat and gave us a blessing once we left. The best service we had during our trip to Baltimore. There's parking on the street outside the restaurant. When we went, it was easy to find a spot and it was only $1 for two hours.
This was my first experience at this establishment. The food was really good. U had the chicken platter. They serve an enormous amount of fries. Per my husband, the greek salad was amazing.
Chicken wrap was really good. Really good service. The Greek yogurt with sour cherry syrup was extremely good.
This was my first time ordering from Souvlaki and I am pleased with what I ordered with the exception of my french fries being inside of the pita. The flavoring was very delightful whereas it was not over-seasoned. I also ordered a baklava which was very good, nice and flaky. I'll be ordering from here again and encourage anyone who has not visited to do so.
My wife, uncle and I ate lunch here the other day and it was without a doubt one of the most pleasant dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We ordered various dips, spinach pie, Greek salad, Greek fries and a bifteki sandwich, and everything was fresh and delicious. But what really made our lunch great was the service. Our server was so friendly and helpful, and even gave us a free dessert. Many restaurants—even really high end ones—seem to forget that their goal is a happy customer, and that service can be just as important as the food. Souvlaki certainly knows this and goes the extra mile to show its appreciation of its customers. We left full and happy, and will definitely return again soon
I love this place! We got lamb and chicken skewers, Greek fries, and pita with tzatziki sauce. This time was takeout but they also deliver too far outside the city and you have to use GrubHub tho. Note that platters are cheaper than buying things separately but if you upgrade to a pita, all the tzatziki sauce is on the wrap rather than the side so it can get a little soggy.
Tried this place for the first time and loved it. The service was incredibly kind and friendly, we immediately felt very welcome and that our business was appreciated. Delicious pitas and salad, on par with food we recently had in Greece, and at reasonable prices. Cute little cozy place, we easily found parking at lunchtime and would return.
Food was good I got lamb chicken and shrimp kabobs. I did not like the rice pilaf it tastes like it has a dash of licorice in it. I don't know anyone in the world who likes black licorice even though I know people do. There's no parking anywhere around there and I accidentally parked on a bus stop because other cars were parked there and I missed the sign. Cost me $252. Not that that was their fault but with the overall experience I probably won't go back. If you're in the area it is definitely a place worth trying.
This is definitely one of the best restaurants I've visited in a long time. All of the food tasted amazing, the dining area was spotless, and the service was top tier. I wish I caught the name of the guy running FOH, he is such a kind spirit. I'll be eating here every time I visit Baltimore from now on, it's an instant favorite!
Delicious! My boyfriend and I stumbled in on MLK day when most places were closed, so glad we did and discovered this gem! The owner is extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. Food was generous in portion and very flavorful. I love that it came with a lemon wedge on the side. We will definitely be back. We wish we lived a little closer so we could be regulars!
