I am very pleased with SpanishBlackbelt and how quickly I am learning conversational Spanish. I am taking individual classes over Skype.  Before beginning my lessons I consulted with my teacher, Consuelo Ortega, about the wisdom of starting at a lower level than what was originally assigned to me. Consuelo reasoned that it would be important to have a solid base and assured me that she would tailor the sessions to my needs.  She is doing so expertly.  She guides the lessons so that I am speaking a lot.  She is energetic, good humored, and encouraging and makes sure to answer my questions. She provides the correct grammar, phrasing, and pronunciation when I need it and challenges me appropriately to try new things.  As we review the assigned chapters, it is clear that she teaches according to my understanding of the material and not just moving along to finish.  I plan to continue to the next level with her.  The only thing that is occasionally frustrating with the program is that a few parts of the curriculum materials are not well translated.  This does not happen often, and when I bring it to the attention of the SpanishBlackbelt office, they get back to me right away.  I recommend this program.

My husband and I decided to learn Spanish together. The SpanishBlackbelt format was the perfect choice for the pursuit. The conversational nature of the lessons in small groups kept the material interesting and engaging as opposed to the traditional "lecture" style in a classroom. Adriana is a great tutor - she knows how to break down and reinforce the material as well as bring a deeper cultural understanding of the language. Highly recommended!

Excellent one-on-one class with Iris!  This was my first class with Spanish Blackbelt. I have learned so much in six weeks. I have attended other Spanish classes in the area, but Spanish Blackbelt is by far the best presentation and organization of the material. The class is held at a convenient location and during a time that works great with my work schedule. The exercises are helpful and relevant. I plan to continue to the next level.

If you want to learn Spanish, I recommend SpanishBlackbelt. My tutor, Iris, is great and is dedicated to your goals of learning Spanish properly.

My wife and I took the introductory White Belt-level course with Adriana beginning in June 2014.  We plan to continue taking the more advanced courses with her because of how happy we are with our progress and with how she runs her class.  The small class-size allows her to have students interact with each other as much as they interact with her.  I feel this is one of the key reasons that this class has been more about understanding the language than just memorizing translations.  I felt I got a lot more out of the course than I initially thought I would, and I owe that to Adriana.
