Absolute most horrible Speedway probably in the entire state! They always allow loitering and panhandling. Can't enter the building at night apparently after certain time to buy sundries and refreshments. I stopped there at 330am, no one was manning the window and there was a sign that said "Gas and tobacco pay at the pump". The homeless guy hanging out called himself knocking on the window for me as he called out "hey big man!". No one still came to the window. People giving anything more than 1 start are lying or paid to give good reviews. They might as well shut down this location but they're making money during the day and the foreigners that own it don't care about service anyway ever since they merged a few years ago with 7-eleven! Nothing will change until we stop patronizing them. Stop giving them your money!
They close the lobby everyday at 8 pm. You must make purchases from the window between 8pm-4am. There is also no public restroom
This is by far the worst speedway in the State of Michigan. To Force patron to stand in the cold just to get all items wrong, if it’s unsafe just shut it down and wait until this store can get better security or something so patrons can receive the same level of service that we receive and the better surrounding speedway.
I have been working in downtown Detroit for about eight years and it seems to me the speedway as far as customer service goes gets worse and worse by the year today was the last strike for me I sat for 30 minutes waiting for somebody to come and take my money for gas mind you I understand that there’s only one person in the gas station when it is around 12 or 1 o’clock but I sat for 30 minutes myself I witnessed at least eight cars come and knock and wait for a person and no one showed up this is ridiculous if you’re not a 24 hour location they just shut down completely around these times. It seems to be there are no standards anymore and people are just allowed to get a job in milk the clock and that actually perform customer service and that is very sad considering the fact that the downtown area is constantly growing and as far as location goes this is a great location for a gas station but it is lacking in customer service I just want you to think about this how long do you think that will last
I love Speedway. So I call ahead to be sure I can use the restroom while I get gas and a drink. They said I could. So I drive straight there. I arrive only to find the inside closed. Window walk up service only. No restroom allowed. As an Uber driver, this is really, really annoying because I just wasted so much time getting here. Now, I have to drive 20 minutes away to get to another Speedway. Hope they don't need a ride home.
They closed the store and only pick and choose who can come inside to safely shop. They have majority of us standing outside a window to “order” our groceries & other quick goods .. there are homeless people standing behind the walls at night time and it’s not safe ! We almost got robbed cause we weren’t allowed to shop inside. If they feel that scared as we are , please just close down at 1:30am or have 4 people at a time to come inside. But leaving the car running standing outside in the dark is not safe especially for the pretty women & children. Speedway on Jefferson downtown Detroit could have so much booming business cause it’s right in the hrs, they refuse service…. I hope the company see this cause regardless, your company loosing money bad and speedway is a wonderful station…. Fire all hire all new
NOT 24 HOURS , INSIDE CLOSED AT NIGHT... GO TO B.P. DOWN THE STREET THEY ARE OPEN 24 HOURS
Close after a certain time but can still order from window
Bums are allowed to loiter there 24 hours a day. Expect the inside to be locked at night. If you want something you have to yell for it through the bullet proof glass and wait for someone to find it and bring it back. Bathroom may be open or locked. It's hit and miss.
Long lines. Horrible employees. Terrible service. This place doesn't care at all about their customers.
