Pulled up to this empty gas station to refuel a rental car. Pretty sure I handed my corporate Amex to a homeless guy who was pretending to be a pump attendant. Then he handed the card to a pitiful looking girl covered in scabs all over her face, who put the card in the machine and started pumping the gas. I was sure my card number was being stolen. By the time I realized what was happening though, it was too late…While she pumped the gas, the guy stood at my window making small talk before he asked for money. That’s when I realized that these 2 don’t even work here. I gave him the only bill I had, $10. As I drove to return the car to the airport and catch my flight, I realized that I was in a perfect position to be robbed. Luckily I wasn’t. I won’t make that kind of stupid mistake again.
A little shady area but make sure the guy pumping wears uniform and you will be fine. He can be slow and want to attend to other customers, but he is ok.
They don't have and attendant and make you pump your own gas, which is illegal in NJ. Under the 1949 Retail Gasoline Dispensing Safety Act, pumping your own gas in New Jersey is unlawful. The statute, N.J.S.A. 34:3A:10, imposes penalties for violating the act and these consequences range from $50 to $250 fine for the first offense, and not to exceed $500 for each subsequent offense thereafter.
The pump guys ignored me on the waiting line then he got angry when I Serv myself. And is tuff to go back on the street in rush hours, nobody give you room for courtesy, or maybe I have a bad day that day.
Usually I don't have any problems here. The gas prices are always less than other places. You do have to get out of your car to go pay at the window no matter how you're paying. Attendants are usually friendly, and every once in a while you have to fend off someone trying to wash your windows for money or cigarettes. Depending on what time you go, the gas station can be pretty busy and sometimes you have to sit in your car before a pump is available. But overall my experience is usually a good one there.
Other review was right the people that pump try to panhandle from you while they are pumping. Also I went one day and they said they were just not selling gas. You can find better price and service down the road.
Yeah it was cheap. But it was very sketchy. The gas station allows homeless people to gas up your car and they panhandle while they are doing it. I've never experienced anything like that. I was paranoid the entire day that my credit card info was stolen. Never coming back here again.
Scam. Lured us in advertising the cheapest unleaded gas at 2.77 a gallon then said all they had was premium at 3.17. They probably pumped us unleaded at premium prices. They guy who greeted us at the pump then tried to ask us for money. He didn’t even work there.
Enjoy sitting in the gas station enjoying the scenery .
Rip off. Make you prepay at window in cash. Fill up. Go up to get change, sign on window says "Closed for 20 min". I'm out $8 unless I'm waiting 20 minutes???? Attendant is useless. I'm from NY. I can pump my own gas and keep my change. You are #€&@ kidding me. Negative 8 stars if I could.
