I used a groupon deal to get dessert. This is a nice comfy place for a quick get together with a friend or two or a coffee date. It was hard, but I picked 2 things to go: the black and white cheesecake and the apple pie. The cheesecake was smooth and delicious. It's really rich, so pace yourself. The apple pie was just as good! No a la mode needed!
Yum! Real Coffee, Great Cafe, Superb Service... This place is actually spacious with ample space between tables for getting in and out easily. Free wifi works great and the place is clean, quaint, and cozy with delicious coffee and cuisine. Most importantly the restrooms were spotless as though they are cleaned regularly unlike some coffee houses, restaurants, public food places. Fair prices and good quality were refreshing finds at this cafe. We will visit again for SURE.
Skip the major brunch locations, come to Spoon instead. This small coffee shop is super cozy and has a personal feel from the staff you can't get from a chain. Great atmosphere, food, and wonderful staff!
Wonderful staff, did a great job hosting their first tea party event with my group! Good food, good tea, and a cute environment. Will be visiting again!
Great place. Absolutely loved stopping NY to pick up some desserts. Happy I snuck a chocolate chip cookie while in the store. It was heavenly. Not overly sweet and nice and soft. I had to purchase 2 more on the spot. Now, I'm wishing I purchased 10 more. I loved conversing with the staff. They offer a great, inviting personality. I'm visiting from DC and wish we had this shop at home. They're closing soon, but hope they open in another location. Be ashame to lose such an awesome place.
This place is amazing! The desserts are out of this world and the atmosphere is so charming and comfortable. It's like going to your best friends house for coffee or tea and the very best desserts ever! You must visit, you will not be disappointed!! Stop by before a movie at the theater, getting your nails done or shopping at the new Harris Teeter! We visit the shopping center often!
The Spoon has a good variety of light meal items such as quiche, sandwiches and salad. We had a ton of tea options, but if you want something other than green or regular iced tea cold, plan about 15 minutes to brew one of the specialty teas so it can be iced. A lot of sweets from cheesecake, cobblers and cookies to scones and even gluten free macaroons. Good friendly environment and tunes are at a good volume to chat. Good little date place, to go orders, or small gathering for up to 8 to 10 to chat about a movie.
Have a sweet tooth and need to satisfy it? Spoon Dessert Cafe is THE SPOT. The struggle? Deciding which delectable dessert to eat! Last week, my husband and I went here for a date night and I wanted it all: Red velvet cake, lemon bars, black and white cheese cake, or the mint chocolate chip cake. I decided on the mint cake with a big glass of milk and that the next time we came in, I would have the lemon bars. Only the next time I came in, the menu had rotated with fresh new items! Now the lemon bars were up against pistachio milk chocolate chip cookies the soft and chewy kind! NOT hard like a store bought, prepackaged cookie, peach carrot cake, caramel apple pie and strawberry fruit tarts. I finally decided on the fruit tart YUM and then discovered there's more options on the menu than just in the case! So next time it will be the cookie ice cream sandwich...unless there's new options. Spoon also offers some lunch items quiche, I think panani's? but I'm a dessert girl. I did RSVP for one of their tea times and am looking forward to afternoon tea!
Come eat their soup! It's always SO good. Oh, and the desserts are good, too. My fave thing to do is camp out with my computer but warning: there are only two outlets in the whole cafe, so working seating is at a premium and order a cream tea. It's free refills on you tea pot, and that comes with a nummy scone. If it's lunch time, I'll get some soup or a sandwich, too. All are really delicious, and the service is always friendly and just attentive enough.
Always a wonderful trip. I recommend it to all my friends. My family and I always pick up some delicious treats on the way out. Their selection and pricing is so great. There is an area in the front of the store with two couches and plenty of games to play when coming by with friends. Initially you might think the store is small, but the openess of the store gives such a cozy, home feel. The music is a bit loud in back of the store, but it doesn't hurt the experience as every other aspect is so great. There's is a cabinet that acts as a divider to create two seating areas. The associates who work here are always accommodating and make me feel welcome. Everyone in Hampton Roads should stop by here at least once. Their macarons are my favorite in the city. Very, very satisfied.
