I like to view Sportsman's as being a near-perfect representation of what it would look like if Hank Hill left his post at Strickland Propane in order to open a sporting goods/outdoor shop.... and just for clarity's sake: 5th gen Texan who has canonized H. Hill in their mind beyond reproach, tell you hwat.

Love coming here for the amazing array of any outdoors gear. They're fishing section is huge I can wander around forever in there. Not to mention the gun and knive section is great as well. There are always helpful workers checking in and asking how you are and if you need help.
