The equipment at this salon is not very impressive for the price a membership costs. Since I've been going there, the closing time has changed multiple times. I've shown up before they closed with the door open but no staff ever shows up. I've also had multiple experiences where they were open late in the morning, or closed early in the evening. With that being said, it was a nightmare trying to use the salon with my schedule. My contract said to cancel the membership in writing, which I did via email and a follow up phone call. They told me I needed to speak with a manager to confirm cancelling my account which is ridiculous. After numerous phone calls and emails later, they continued charging my card for THREE MONTHS. I finally talked to someone that said there was a new manager and he would have her call me. She never did, but she eventually responded to my email. She finally cancelled future payments, but told me they wouldn't refund the three months they shouldn't have charged because cancellations need to be in person. I sent her a picture of my contract that said written request... And we are currently on week three of her ignoring me. Save your time and money and don't get wrapped into this terribly organized sub-par business
It's a beautiful salon and very spacious!!! The employees are unhelpful when it comes to signing up new guests, just be sure to watch what your signing and double check they understand your membership requests. The district manager definitely came through and corrected the mistakes made on my account and for that I am thankful! It does show that they are willing to take care of the customer when mistakes are made. I just think the employees should be more educated on the tanning processes and on memberships! They need to put the cell phones down and be a little more professional when it comes to being the face of a business.
If I could, I would give this awful place a negative 5 stars! I worked there for approximately 4 months and each one of my paychecks either bounced, had to be exchanged for cash, or exchanged for a check written off an account that belonged to the owner. When I attempted to address the problems with my checks, they would say "they're busy and can't talk". They expected you to be at work on time and even if their power is cut off due to not paying their bills, they expected you to stay there to sit in the 100 degree weather to lie to each client that arrived and tell them there are technical issues going on at that time rather than just letting them know straight up that they cannot pay their bills nor their employees! They've been reported several times to the police as well as the better business bureau!!! Before walking into a complete and total set up for failure, please think twice and know that you will not be paid for your honest and hard earned hours worked for these unjust, unethical and deceitful "people". Also, I would NEVER pay this place my money to have any services done knowing that they do not clean the machines correctly and have been in poor condition ever since their first use. They cannot keep employees for long at all due to the fact that they are busting their butts and not being paid! I am to be trusted on the words I am typing because I was a honorable employee of theirs for several months. I stayed because I loved the clients and the job, but if they're not able to pay to keep the power on or to keep employees paid by the checks given out every other Friday, then I could no longer pay to go to work! Chances are very high that they are not claiming their employees, which would explain why I was often asked to exchange the NSF checks for cash. Potential employees and customers beware!!!!!
I loooove Darque Tan!!! I've tanned here for almost 4 months and I have been satisfied ever since. Jackie & Sara, two employees, are the sweetest, most helpful people ever. They will always make sure you got a good tan, they help out with problems, and they treat you like a friend rather than just another customer. They make my tanning/spa experience 10 times better. It's always great going into the salon and seeing them working. The spa services are amazing and work so well. I love tanning at Darque Tan because they have great prices, the beds always work, and the beds are always thoroughly cleaned. I walk out feeling beautiful which is ultimately what salons are supposed to do! Highly recommend for tanning & spa services!
I used to love Darque Tan. I tanned there for years but unfortunately in the past month our relationship has gone sour. In May of last year I found out that I was pregnant and called to cancel my membership. The customer service representative told me that while I couldn't cancel over the phone they could put a "hold" on the account. She assured me that unless I came in to restart my membership there would be no more automatic withdraws from my checking account. In June there were no charges so I did not worry about anymore charges. Then this past month I received my yearly detailed bank statement and got a huge surprise with charges from Darque Tan for the past 10 months! I called the local salon and after the girl put the phone down to check customers in for 15 minutes she hung up on me. I wrote a complaint letter to customer service and she wrote back telling me they would credit me with three months of services, which I don't want. Their policies for memberships are confusing, misleading and manipulative. Their customer service is rude and uninformed. I've gone to the BBB website and found almost identical complaints. Darque Tan needs to start paying back the people they are ripping off.
Kayleigh was very informative & helpful in helping me decide what package to do! All of the packages are very well priced. I love the variety of beds and products they have to offer. The spa services are awesome! And to top it off, the salon is super clean which is why I keep going back!
I recommend this place to all my friends . They are clean and have a friendly knowledgeable staff. They have a great selection of tanning levels depending on what you’re looking for. They offer a huge variety of lotions and products to extend the life of your tans. I prefer to do sunless tanning in the Versa spa which is my favorite! I’ve also tried the light therapy which I will definitely be trying again. 10/10 recommend.
I recently went in to cancel my membership. I was told I needed to pay for my month up front and that was all I needed to do and no further charges would be taken out. The next day my month's charges had been taken out of my bank account. I called the store immediately and was told by the associate that it was because I cancelled so close to the draft date and she would pass my information along to the manager and promised me a refund. Four days later, I hadn't heard from anyone, so I sought out the customer service email. This person told me that I had to "cancel before the 10th of the month. Sorry you were told otherwise." I told her that if I had known I would have waited to cancel until the 10th of the following month as to be able to tan during that time. I said that I would accept a refund or to be able to tan for the month I paid for a level 5 membership. Customer service told me they would give me a free level 1 or 2 membership, which is not acceptable. Make sure to read all of the fine print, because the sales associates seem to not know the policies and customer service is less than willing to help. I will definitely be taking my business to At The Beach, as their beds are better anyways.
