The church community is very welcoming to new people. Father Don says mass with joy. He invites you into every aspect of the mass. The music is great especially at the 8:30 mass with the "Joyful Noise" group.
The St. Clare parish in Portland, OR is a great community. I go there often and every time I feel welcomed even by those I don't know. Over the last couple years, the parish went through a difficult time. The pastor leading the parish wasn't a good fit for the dynamic parish as St. Clare is. The parish has lost many parishioners. Fortunately, it all changed and the current pastor is full of enthusiasm and energy. It's reviving.
I'm not sure what they teach at this church, but I have been at Nehalem State Park this weekend, where I am usually part of a large group campout of many different families and we all put up signs in front of our sites. Our campout was cancelled, because the risk of spreading Covid between families and to others is too great, and those of us here because we had reservations are wearing masks and have avoided socializing. meanwhile there is a large St. Clare affiliated campout with many signs on sites and huge groups of multiple families dozens of people congregating with no distancing and NO masks. As a Portland resident, I would never consider joining a community with such reckless disregard for others in their community and the community at large.
Very humble and nice priest, Fr. Don. Very nice community of people. Lots of community service projects available to participate in. A church with the Franciscan philosophy.
Very inspiring Mass with wonderful choir and welcoming parishioners. Glad to come back!
Fr. Don Gutmann is the new priest, and he's great! Very kind and funny, his masses are worth checking out.
Wonderfully beautiful church! The priest is even better you will have a great sense of community.

Father Don is a cool guy. I did confession with him. You can tell the Holy Spirit is in him
