I came here to take a break from a work meeting and decided to pick up some pastries to share with the group. I grabbed a pecan cinnamon roll and it was good but a bit soft/underdone I’m the middle. The store was pretty spacious but the selection was a bit sparse. Everyone enjoyed the smaller pastries and is right in the heart of downtown. I would come back again earlier in the day to see if there was a better selection.
I'm sure there are many tasty items here at this bakery that if I were to chose something different it would be delicious. My litmus test for American French bakeries are the lemon tarts and this one today was just ok. The crust was a bit too hard that my plastic knife and fork could not get through with fear of wearing it in my lap. The lemon custard was flavorful and very rich, to which is why the crust had to be strong enough to hold it without becoming soggy. I ended up scrapping off most of the custard and eating the remainder of the crust and it was good. Anyways stop in and make up your own mind. 3.5 stars but rounding up because Portland needs the love.
"The best I've had since actual france" - said unpretentiously We got pain au chocolate, a pear baourdaloue tart and an apple fritter I forget the name, more French than that. The apple fitter had a really satisfying flakey bite to it, but the inside was cold, which was on odd sensation. I'd like to try it room temp-warm next time. The pear tart was solid. The ratio of crust to almond cream to pear was good. Although I sortof wish it was slices of pear across it instead of a big peice, to even out each bite. The Pain au chocolate has a robust bite with a nice amount of give. There is just the right amount of chocolate to compliment the butteryness. The atmosphere is light and airy, with all creme paint and glass cabinets. There's a small selection of juices, as well as savoury foods like quick and sandwiches.
I'm gonna put this bakery on top of my list! Their pastries are so delicious. I got the chocolate cake and it was the best I've ever had. The croissant was crispy and tasty too! If you are craving for something sweet this is the place will satisfy your sweet tooth!
Delicious food. Paninis were delicious in good portions and well stuffed, on point The coffee was so good with the combination of the sweets. Everything was delicious and the attention was very nice as well.
Ordered two sandwiches, a quiche, and some bakery items and it was all pretty bad. The quality was terrible, lettuce was NOT fresh, and they served it on paper plates. The quiche tastes like hay btw and the sandwiches were SO BAD we couldn’t even finish. If you like bad food try this place out!
Great place and Patisserie ! As a french pâtisserie connoisseur & baker I must say that the St Honoré and Kouign amann were absolutely delicious. The Mille Feuille wasn’t great tho ! The crème pâtissière tasted like butter and was extremely sweet. Service was great. Will definitely be back!
Lots variety here but it's a nice shop to just have some coffee and really relax here. I had my dirty chai latte here with my favorite kouign Amann. The chai was the typical kind with soy would love it to be stronger. If they have a stronger version would be great. The kouign amann was just on the top. So this version was like a puff pastry kind and the good stuff was on the top only. So I guess Healthier version ? They put salt on the top so that savourness comes from that together with that sweetness it's good but could be great. If it was done the rolled way. Total was 11. As I ordered the 16oz chai latte with expresso shot added.
They have cute looking and tasty pastries, sandwiches, soup and coffee. Good place for breakfast or break time.
Excellent stop for breakfast or lunch. Nice selection of pastries, sandwiches and quiche.
